This is some pretty cool marketing

Hi,

I was just browsing through Facebook and noticed one of my friends updated her status with

"I must be such a good customer a man with a board has my name on it offering me a special deal at pizza express, they shouldn't have gone to so much trouble lol xx"

and she also included this picture with the post.



I think this is some pretty cool marketing and goes the extra mile to build a relation with the customer. My friend is obviously very happy about it as she shared it with her friends, It appears to have made her feel special!

Have you used anything similar (other than personalized emails)?

Is the technology easily available to us IM'ers?

What do you think on this marketing strategy? Good idea, Bad idea

    That is pretty interesting and something that i never really thought about before. Would probably be very effective with a couple of different approaches, especially with an offline business!

    Looks like a smart marketing move -- your friend Tracy was clearly very happy about it. Whether or not something like this is available to online marketers, I'm not 100% sure. Though it actually makes me think of those large restaurants that send discount coupons to people on their birthdays.

    That's pretty cool of them to give a certain customer a special treat on any day except Saturday! Kidding aside, it's a good way of keeping your customers and making sure that they're loyal to your brand. I think of this as some sort of a reward or loyalty system. This can be done online, as well. Won't that make the people excited about what you're going to give them?
