Why EA is so hard these days?

I've been submitting articles since 2007 and most of the time my articles are reviewed once and accepted without any problem.

Lately I've been getting problems like "broken URL". I've been getting a lot of "broken URL" lately but my links are perfectly working. Today one article was approved pointing to the same URL that was rejected for broken link...I do not understand...2 articles pointing to the same URL and one was accepted and the other was rejected because of broken link. Now I emailed the EA support to clarify about the "broken links" that are perfectly active and working. Although I am afraid to email them (afraid they will take it against me and suspend my account or whatever). But I feel I need to email because I really do not know what to fix when the URLs are working.

I also have articles modified because the blogger site was deleted by blogger (I do not know why) so I modified my articles pointing to that blog and created a new website hosted by a paid hosting service (not a blogger anymore). But the articles accepted before are now encountering problems like "broken URL" (but the links are working perfectly), so i re-submitted, now after the review the problem is "Your article must not promote your company, product, or yourself in the article body."....I am surprised because the articles were already live and accepted a year ago and I just edited and replaced the non-working blogger link and now I am encountering different problems in each review by EA.

I am also getting excessive keywords problems and for the first time this I am getting grammar spelling error..

Why EA is so hard these days? EA is driving me nuts lately although some of my articles are still accepted without problems I am still bothered by the rate of rejection I am getting lately.

Are you having a hard time with EA lately?

Thanks and sorry if my post sounds like a rant...I am just really disappointed lately with EA but of course I am still submitting articles everyday. I have to because EA brings a lot of traffic ..

    Hi Raquel,

Your very last sentence sums it all up, but I'll elaborate anyway.

There are tons of articles that were submitted before new policies went into effect. Sometimes these are caught, but often they stay as is - UNTIL they are modified and re-submitted for approval.

To them it's like it's a new article. It has to be. Otherwise people would simply write acceptable articles, then modify them after they were live, knowing they woudn't be checked.

As far as I know, EZA simply doesn't allow any links in the article body anymore (I could be wrong, I've never used them).

Anyway, your best bet is to change the way you're wirting articles to make sure they fit with the current guidelines. It may seem like a hassle, but like I said...

Your very last sentence says it all.

    All the best,
    Michael

      Hello Michael,
Thanks for taking the time to read and reply on my post....yes they are treating modified articles as new and applying new policies...but it is really driving me nuts because I need to modify my articles 2-3x to be accepted which was not the case before. Plus I am encountering problems (broken links) which is not really a problem. Excessive keywords even if I only have 5-6 keywords out of 400-words article etc.

Lately they've been very strict...before... I could submit 5 articles a day and all were accepted without any problem..now 2 out 5 are accepted and 3 have diff. problems.

I don't include links in my article body ever since..sorry I forgot to mention that those "broken URL" problems are on my resource box but the links are working perfectly.

      Thanks,

Look at it this way. With EA being more difficult (or strict) fewer people will have the patience to stick it out and prosper from using this advertising medium, allowing those (you) who know how to make it work that further ahead of the competition.

Nive, positive frame of mind, David!

Raquel, with EZA you just have to "eat it" or quit. I think the profitable decision is obvious.

What I have found most frustrating with EZA recently is simply their being wrong! I had a number of articles rejected a week ago for them not allowing links in the article body. I had no links in the articles and had my name at the start of the resource box so it was VERY clear where the article ended and the resource box began.

I have spoken to a few other article marketers who have had the same issue and none of us could think what would cause this, besides clueless editors of course!

Yes that's what happened to my "broken link" problem...they are wrong and it is perfectly working. Maybe they have new people there reviewing the article? Or some reviewer have tons or articles for review that they get confused?..but the end result is the delay of approval and getting the article live which affects our sales ...sad really.. hmmmm...

The same has happened to be before....

Just send them an email and chances are good that you will get a response apologizing for the error and your article will be accepted right away. That is my experience anyway.

Good advice, I assumed I just had to go back through the systems again. Cheers for that.

Another question, did you emailed EA Support via your EA author account? or did you replied to the EA Problem Resolution email?
I asked because today my 2 articles were rejected for the 4th time due to Broken URL, but the URL are working perfectly. I emailed EA support via my EA author account and re-submitted the article but no reply and they just rejected the article again.
I sent another email via my EA author account now, and I am thinking if I am doing the right thing or should I reply to EA Problem Resolution email for them to read my concern and reply.

              Thanks to all

I've found EZA slower than usual lately... very slow to respond to messages and very slow to review. I haven't found their reviewing policies to have changed much though..

I have definitely noticed a few of my articles lately have become "problem articles". I think this is good news because it will force people to write more credible articles and cut down on spamming.

Yes I agree, if some of the posters here are having problems who I would think are good writers, imagine how many rejections the poor writers are getting.

This makes it easier for people who are submitting good quality articles because a lot of the spammyesque stuff is being rejected, so there is less competition.

I've seen Chris blaming some issues on "newbie editors" that are unfamiliar with some things.

Isn't that what training is for?

Sorry Chris, but if you read this, are you still hiring?

If so, you'd probably prefer someone who lives in America's Dairyland.

Just let me know. I could drive up for any necessary meetings, etc.

Funny! I have experienced the "new editor" thing, having had some articles rejected due to a problem which really was not a problem at all. I often change a word or sentence and resubmit it and then all is fine. Overall, EZA is pretty good IMO.

  • It's been a while since I posted an article there. I noticed today that all of my articles are still "live", which means that nobody's gone back and found any problems with them.

I'll submit an article or two and see how long it takes for me to get a silly rejection notice...

The other day, I had an article get denied as a "general error". Had to contact EZA.

Well, first I tried resubmitting it. Did that over a 2 day period. Still, kept coming up denied with the "general error" message.

After waiting nearly two days for a response, the message I received was that my article had "accidently" been placed in the problem queue.

What a long, drawn out process for nothing. But, at the same time, I submit around 5-10 articles daily, sometimes more, so it wasn't a huge deal to me, but I do think that there must be some noobs around that way.

But as of late, I haven't had any other issues with articles being accepted. Just follow the guidelines, and you'll be straight.

EZA gets a lot of hate - I guess that comes with being the top dog - but really, if you compare them to, say, Dell or any MasterCard Vendor, they're actually pretty responsive and get things done in a RELATIVELY timely manner.

After all, they're doing a lot more than just responding to email support issues. They served up 5.1 million hits to their authors' pages last month! That's an almost incomprehensible number to me...
