How many use Twitter as one of their main sources of traffic? I admit I haven't focused on it that much before, but I notice it seems like they have less restrictions on marketing than Facebook. It seems like it might be a pretty powerful way to engage the audience.

If you are ENGAGING them, then you're right. I have a few VERY high end clients and I operate their twitter accounts sometimes for as much as a few hours per day...retweeting, responding to folks, posting relevant content...then I pepper in some contests, and then eve less, I pepper in something that would be specific to them visiting a site, landing page, etc. and have gotten hundreds of visits within just an hour of posting something. The key is, be REAL, or else your Twitter time is 100% a waste. many here will say its a waste because they post affiliate link after affiliate link and wonder why they're not driving a porsche.

    Good luck!

It is a source for me, but not a main source.

Without the engagement Mac speaks about, it's true, you won't get any traffic.

The newsfeed for most people just goes past in a flash, and unless you post a relevant tweet right when they happen to be checking their feed, they won't see it.

However, if you are mentioning them / replying to them etc, then your tweet appears under Mentions and has a much higher likelyhood of being seen.
