Dangerous! This Trend Of People Wanting To Buy Email Lists / Lead! Do Not Do IT!

I am seeing a trend of people who are asking about where to buy email leads from.

I think that is dangerous.

Have a friend here in OZ, who bought allegedly a list of 10,000 people, who were meant to be buyers and highly targeted. What a load of nonsense. After he spent $695 and they did the blast for him he did not see one optin or sale.

You are better off doing solo ads with people who are reputable.

Be-careful out there people.

Shortcuts have always been too appealing to ignore for many of us. We don't want the hard work. Once someone flashes that huge number of 'subscribers', we go all giddy guessing the conversion rates and how much moolah we can make.

Anyway, people need to learn (some the hard way), that shortcuts are not always what they seem. Put in the hard work instead and reap the benefits.

Thanks for the notice although I think one could reason that if email addresses were being sold then these people were going to be spammed and thus highly unresponsive.

I agree with kolled though, when salespeople do the metaphorical equivalent of 'flashing the cash' all reason can go out the window, so to speak.

Although outsourcing is ultimately a must for a busy IM business, there is no getting away from putting some hard work in and building a relationship with those who you would have buy off you.
