Wishlist Member Registration - Can it do this?

3 replies
I want to integrate multiple payment processors as well as have free sign ups for certain accounts.

However, currently Wishlist is forcing me to send people through Clickbank since that's the integration I chose for the main product.

I need the URL where someone can go to simply sign up and not pay. This is usually the URL they visit to confirm their membership after paying. I need that direct link but cannot find it.

So in other words, here is my current order:

Registration-->Clickbank payment-->Website access

I need it to look more like this:

Clickbank payment-->Registration-->Website access

I also need a way of sending people to the registration without needing the Clickbank token so I can send them through other payment methods.

Is this possible?

    Hello Eric,

    WishList Member by default is set up to accept paid memberships, so to set up a free membership level, you have to do it manually.

    Just set up your level in the Membership Levels tab. Then go to Pages in WordPress and set up a page with a title called Free Registration (or whatever you want). Then scroll toward the bottom and you will see a merge code [register_level]. Copy that and paste it into the content section of the page and replace level with the name of your membership level.

    So whatever level you specify in the "level" of the code will then create a registration page that will bypass the paid membership process.

    As far as being able to use multiple shopping carts, I'm not positively sure if that is possible, but it seems like you may be able to because you are doing the integration by membership level. So you could attach the shopping cart to the membership level utilizing the url that WishList Members gives you. But I can find out for sure.

    I hope this helps.

    Hey Robin, thanks for the info.

    I think I might have found another solution.

    Part of the problem is the default page for the Wishlist member software after you register takes you to a payment portal page. This is bad news.

    When you change what page your visitor goes to after the registration, this fixed 90 percent of these errors. People can now register for free on certain accounts without having to go through Clickbank.

    That's strange because I believe WLM, once someone clicks the join now or buy now button, it should then take them to the payment page. Then once the shopping cart determines the transaction is successful, they are then taken to the registration page. So payment first then registration. That's why the manual set up for a free membership.

    I have not dealt with ClickBank so I wonder if that is something that it does. Thanks.
