Okay. Health and fitness isn't a niche. They are two absolutey massive mega markets unto themselves. Your friend is right to some degree.

A niche is a sub market. Here's a progression of how it might go:

Health > Natural Healing > Holistic health > Natural remedies > Home cures > Grannies old fashioned acne fixer

Health is the mega market followed by a couple more mega markets. As you go along the markets get smaller and smaller until you find a sub market or even a micro market.

Your competitors in the overall health market are going to be companies like Johnson and Johnson, Squib, major pharmaceudical companies, and much more. Half the freakin' planet is involved in the health market. If you do decide to do this you need to go waaaaay down to an actual niche.

Choose a niche you Love is the bottom line. Most any niche is profitable If you want to get into a niche to make money, Bad Move! Get into a niche that you yourself know a little bit about so to be able to help folks out. If you know nothing about fitness, go elsewhere...

Health is a market, not really a niche.

If you're interested in a niche market, try to come up with something within health that you're interested in, passionate about or knowledgeable about.

I understand where you are coming from but ....

Why would you need to love your niche or even like it for that matter. I am using niche as most think of it on here .. not the actual group.

There is money to be made in writing quality content. Site content, landing pages, squeeze pages, Sales Letters, SEO articles, Traffic articles, newsletters, follow up content ... just to tip the iceberg.

Now I like to write but have found it much more profitable to do other things. Okay .. I am getting rather lazy in my older days. A lot of people either can't write or don't want to write. Should I stay away from this "niche" just because I don't want to write?

I need writers for my own stuff .. why not leverage?

It is possible to get a decent writing staff, hire them out and use the profit they create to pay for all your own content needs. Even get paid to have the content written that keeps the buyers coming to your content Niche site.

It is not about what you like to do as much as how you leverage what is around you.

          Hey Mr.Williams,
I saw that you have a mailing list of 20k? If you still have that list, I have a free gift offer that works well with several types of mailing list niches. It converts at around 15-20%. PM me if interested.

hey - I am new to warrior forum so I cant pm or post new thread yet. I have a question about keyword research and buying domain name. So i found a keyword "blah Blah" that has very few local searches / global but has approx. 27000 global per month exact match searches for a closely related term single word term. In fact when you google the keyword "blah Blah" every page on page one references the other related term as the clinical term. So i can get an exact match domain "blah blah" that is available and use the term "blah blah" as well as the clinical term right? I will tell you that this niche is in the medical industry. What do you think, do you think this is a good starting point? I am super new to this but I am intrigued and I have built a few other blogs that are on page 1 of google but really get zero traffic. I am spending more time now focusing on the keywords as its is the only way to get traffic i know understand.

I'm just starting to get into a health related niche, I'll let you know if it is profitable or not in a few months. I am learning quick and trying to make money and this was really something that I know about and have a passion for. I did keyword research and came up with a few keywords to try and compete for and now keep trying to plug away until I get success.

Health is a HUGE market that encompasses many different niches. Listen to travlinguy and pick specific subcategory (niche) to focus on, and really work on providing unique, interesting and valuable content. Competition is quite fierce when it comes to health but if you establish yourself as a reliable source you can certainly earn a very good income.

The Health and wellness niche , is where millionaires are made. Even if you can slice off a tiny piece of the pie ,you will be set!

The question should be how long it will take.

Hope things go well for you. My suggestions, coming to you as a health writer that manages almost 20 of her own sites, are that you get a very clear picture of who your audience is and what problems they want solved, not to mention what they've already tried. Make sure your solutions have credible substantiation and provide real value to that audience.

Of course it is profitable, there are hundreds if not thousands of products you can promote as an affiliate, or you can even create your own info products within the health niche and make money selling them on the Internet.

The fact is the health market is one of the biggest ones out there, but also with the most competition. I see that many starting marketers get started in the health market, weight loss in particular. While there is a lot of money to be made within this market, it may not be the best pick for a starting marketer.

    Just my two cents.

Yes, it is a profitable niche but it is also very competitive. You will have too work very hard to rank the websites. Or you can do Pay per click advertising which is not so cheap.

The health and fitness market(s) is huge. The trick is to find a niche within this market that you can really make a profit with (if you're not careful, you'll be up against way too much competition, which is the main issue with this market).

Anyway, like others say, just pick a niche that you enjoy.

I'd say this is more of a market. A niche would be something more specific. Personally, I'm in the 'vertical jump' niche. Pick something like that.

Health is a very broad term for this

focus on something smaller within it...build credibility, establish yourself and then move on to related niches

slowly you would expanded to many niches

P.S. Even smaller niches related to health would be having a lot of competition

      thanks

One other thing to be aware of is that in marketing there is some expectation of literacy and facility with language. This includes proper spelling and punctuation.

Shortcuts and improper punctuation may or may not be acceptable in a forum.

But if you don't demonstrate proper use of language in your marketing materials you will lose sales.

If you can locate desperate niches in these markets...
Competition shouldn't be scaring you. And I don't think big companies are your competition. You can use their tools to your advantage, and even partner with them (affiliate marketing, or reselling business).
Where is competition there is money. But you know, it's not for lazy people.

Any niche is profitable unless you don't put any effort and experience into it. Health is one among the most searched topic. Everybody wants to stay fit and healthy. So everybody is looking for tips one way or the other. So my guess is this would be a profitable niche if you use good SEO techniques.

Trying to compete with keywords such as lose weight now or weight loss would be very tough. The trick is to find a sub niche of health such as...

Increase energy, healthy eating, specific diets, specific weight loss plans, gaining weight, gaining muscle, hair loss, supplements, medical procedures, quit smoking, skin care, headache relief, men's health, women's health, children's health....etc

You get the idea. There are hundreds, if not thousands of sub niches and even more micro niches. Find one, do the keyword research and get to work.

Go to the dummies books website and check out the dummy books in the health section, that will show you what niches are selling.

      Good luck
