In Defense of "Shiny Button" Marketing
Marketers, consumers and skeptics continue to talk against so-called software that claim to "make money" by pushing a button. Although many ads imply this, most are merely a tool or link in the profit chain - and not the whole, in my opinion.
And like most tools, I personally don't see them as good or bad in themselves for the most part.
I've never sold any of these products, but I've bought many. Not with the idea of making millions while making love on a beach. But with helping me with keyword research, identifying untapped niche markets and other routine task.
I don't take the "push button riches" claims literally, just like I don't take the beer, auto or food commercials I see on T.V literally.
For example, ...
- I could never gulp beer all day long and look like the studly models in all those beer commercials. (Budweiser, Miller)
- Whenever I've gone to buy a new car I've never seen super models in the showroom! (Cadillac)
- The perfectly stacked burgers in those commericals never look like they do when I order one! (Burger King)
But I've never claimed Budweiser, Cadillac or Burger King was a scam.
Just my thoughts and I welcome yours.
