Youtube Videos in Google Listings

When you search for a keyword phrase in Google, youtube videos show up in the listings.

There is no doubt that the keyword phrase is selecting a youtube video when showing up in the Google listings. I have noticed if you go to youtube and use the same keyword phrase as you used in the Google search, the same video is not the first video shown.

When you create a youtube video, you can assign a title, description and tags. In addition, you will have youtube view counts and posted comments. Plus users can post "Likes" for your video. I think I have it all covered here.

What factors determine which youtube video is selected first in the Google listings for a specific keyword phrase?

I would presume the most viewed is displayed on the results. Gathering from an example by searching 'youtube video', 'ultimate dog tease' came up - it had no tags connecting the dots to the searched keyword but the video has been seen 90million+ times! There are no other attributes of the video that could have helped me determine what the algorithm of Google is looking for so that's what I conclude in the end - it should be more complicated than this but at least that's one thing to take not of, for sure.

Well YouTube is owned by Google so it's only right to assume that Google utilizes the same algorithm system in YouTube that it does with Google. I'm sure that each video's title, tags, and descriptions have something to do with it. I would also think that video length has something to do with it to, along with how many links are pointing back to the video on different websites.

None of this is proven though, so don't take my word for it.
