Dear Publisher,

Due to repeated Content Guideline violations with respect to books you have submitted through your Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) account, specifically submission of content that is freely available on the web, we are terminating your KDP account and your KDP Agreement effective immediately.

As part of the termination process, we will close your KDP account(s) and remove the books you have uploaded through KDP from the Kindle Store. Subject to the KDP Terms and Conditions, you will receive any unpaid royalties you have earned.
Yes I was uploading PLR ebooks. I will be emailing them to see if I can be reinstated. I haven't even used that account in months, and my books were not selling so it is weird that they would ban me.

Well, it makes sense that they would review published material. They certainly don't want it to turn into a database of junk. =\ If it's been that long and you're polite and promise to never do it again... maybe they'll reopen your account.

    G'luck.

There have been a few posts on this already, I guess they have spoken loud and clear regarding what they think of PLR products.

I just got the same email.

I too had uploaded a bunch of PLR books years, and years, and years ago and half forgot they were even there. I checked my emails and can't find any warnings from them so I assume the warnings were posted on my account...that I haven't logged into in ages.

I emailed them and explained the situation and asked what steps I need to take to reinstate my account, so I will keep you updated.

Yeah, I just received a "block" also, and have been emailing back and forth, with the same replies. I had one e-book, that was too "common" available on the web. I told them it been years and several hard-drive later to find "original" e-book. Anyway, I told them I spent hundreds of dollars with Amazon over the years, and have other accounts with them. I'll end up calling them, but, who knows.

Note: It's interesting to find that they claim to have sent me a warning, a few days after I made a sale, from another e-book. This must generate an alert report, each time a sale is made to verify account. Not-sure.

It's good to see I'm not the only one, in the same boat.

Just take the PLR books off of the site, and then let them know that you will not post any more PLR books on their site.

    A phone call helps.

Some people have been able to get reinstated.

Amazon decided to get read of PLR books in the fall of 2011 - if I remember well Oct?.
If you had no activity after that, just tell them the truth, you didn't know about the new rules (your TOS before it were different), take off the PLRs, promiss to have only books with original content and you have great chances your account will be up. Beware that spinning software will not solve the problem of not having original content, better hire some writers for low fees - there are many outsourcing places.

I'm glad Kindle is doing this. It's quite awesome, in fact.

I don't feel good that you got your account banned, don't get me wrong.

But I think it's awesome that they are making sure people only publish original books on Kindle.

Man, looks like a form letter. I do feel for you, if they are taking off books that had nothing to do with PLR.

But since it's a form letter, maybe a phone call would help? I don't know, man, but yeah, I know I said I think it's "awesome" that they have clamped down on PLR and don't retract that, but since you are ready to create solely original content they should know that!

      Randall,

How can you make such a blanket statement? Amazon has terms of use. If you don't abide by them, you get bounced. Little guy or big guy. The rules apply.

Why is it that everyone is so quick to blame the company e.g. Amazon, Google, Paypal etc. when they break the rules and then come crying because they got caught out.

Simple solution. Stop breaking the rules and you won't have any problems.

Well, they have a lot of books. It takes a long time to go through that many books, especially when being careful not to remove books that aren't PLR.

Please help. I got a notice from KDP telling me i had to reply in 5 days to their e-mail. They want to know about 2 of my 5 books. I am the sole copyright holder. One is a short story that appeared in a relatively obscure literary mag before it was published on Amazon. The other was a humor collection that i did put on KDP select and. seriously, I forgot to unpublish it on Smashwords.

I'm very concerned about their e-mail and responded with the facts above. Amazon sent a reply saying it would take longer than usual to respond.

I see folks here talking about calling Amazon. How do I do that? Is there a telephone number for Amazon KDP? Please let me know the number. TIA

I went to the support area. I don't see a phone number for KDP. It's about event planning and sales. Does anyone have an actual telephone number. I'm really distraught over this. These books are my own work, and as far as I can tell I'm getting computer generated e-mail from Amazon. I need some help here. Anyone?

            Hi,

I got one of those emails about a month ago. Two of my six books were being questioned. I searched the Internet and found a torrent site that had my two books available. I wrote the torrent site and asked them to remove the books. I sent a copy of that email to Amazon along with some other information on my books. I heard back from them in about two days saying things were fine.

If you have a book up on Smashwords I would immediately remove it. Then I'd send Amazon an email and say it has been removed. I'd do a search for where else your other book might be on the net and if you find anywhere that is offering it I'd demand that the site take it down. Then I'd send a copy of that email too. If you don't find any other places I'd tell Amazon you searched and didn't fine anything else.

You will have to go to the KDP select area and use the contact form that is there.

            Hope this helps!

Hardly the case. There were numerous violations. It's not like they terminated the account for a one-time mistake. There are a number of bad companies: Google, Plimus, PayPal,, etc., who will do that.

Amazon is pretty fair unlike the other "big guys". Definitely give them a call.

I agree with Myri that if you can show that it's been a while since you had put these PLR books online, you can probably get your account back with a little persistence. However, be nice and respectful when speaking with them. If they say they can't help, politely ask for an escalation to their management, etc. The fact that they even offer a number to call is pretty cool.

How are you so sure :rolleyes:

Ebay's customer service is notorious for stiffing sellers. Just last month I had a guy refund scam me using buyer protection, get an item for free and leave negative feedback saying he did it.. ebay's done nothing after repeated calls and emails:rolleyes::rolleyes:.

Dont get me started on ebay.

KDP is almost as bad as sad sense. They love to hit that BAN button for no reason. I almost wish I had never ever heard of spamazon or spam zone. That is what most KDP books are anyway. Yeah, and they sell for 99 cents even. Oh my, this is one crazy company.

Never EVER lie on the web. yes it is easier to lie here and it is easy to click the "I agree" box but you should take a short look and see what you can or can't do because maybe someday your main income will come from Amazon and then they might ban you with no warning and you will lose everything.

Good for us publishers who are publishing unique and original content. My books are pending review for more than 2 weeks and it is so because the staff is busy deleting/banning accounts of people like you.
