I have decided to use wp to build my site. Next question comes how to select theme for my site.

I would highly recommend Mysitemyway « Premium WordPress Themes themes. They are incredibly flexible and easy to use. You can create some very unique pages with the built-in functions and shortcodes. Stellar support, too. I use them almost exclusively.

Let me offer an alternate view. Start with the basic WP theme, add your own banner pic, and go for it. You are liable to get sidetracked looking for just the right theme and miss out on your goal of getting started. You can always change it later, it is really easy to change. You will surprised how different you site will look even with the basic theme, once you add the title, banner and content.

In any event, good luck, Ed

I think I have to agree with Ed here. If you get a theme that requires a lot of tweaking you can end up spending a lot of valuable time just trying to get every little aspect of the site looking perfect. Plus the great thing about WP is that you can change to a different theme at any point and all of your content is still intact.

    Hi there,

It all depends on your budget and what kind of site you would like it to be.

There are a lot of good looking free WP themes online via search engine, or alternatively you can hire a web developer to build your site, or create a banner (as edd suggested) usually for pretty inexpensive. This can help bring you idea to life.

    All the best with it!
