I need an autoresponder.

8 replies
I am looking to purchase a list of email opt-in leads from reputable companies ( I have a few in mind). The problem is Aweber, GetReponse and all the other big name responders don't allow imports of purchased lists, even if they are opt-ins requesting information. I have also checked some of the responders that do accept such lists, but their deliverability is poor. Anyone have any suggestions on a good autoresponder that will allow imports of purchased opt-ins and have high deliverability? I appreciate it.

    The problem that you're going to run into with this is the anti-spam regs. The big guys need to protect themselves, which is why they don't allow opt-ins that didn't originate with their own process.

    The CAN-SPAM Act: Requirements for Commercial Emailers

    Here's the link to the FTC if you're interested in looking at the actual provisions of the Can-Spam act requirements.

      So, even if the leads said they want to be contacted about certain offers, it's still considered spam, and that the only way for it to be legal, is I have to spend a fortune on advertising to get the same amount of leads to opt-in to my specific offer and not someone else's? Even posting blogs and articles can't get 20,000 leads in any reasonable amount of time.

      About CAN SPAM- This law is codifying (making into law) the common sense principle of only sending info to people who want it.

      Purchased leads can work but the key is knowing how they are generated. Why not spend the time developing a true relationship with your list and working with people who already have a list in your niche.

      When I was starting out, I was article marketing only. I purchased a list building product (197$) from someone who turned into a mentor. I've spent lots more on mailings to his list in a certain niche. I have made a HUGE return on investment on top of my own efforts. Sometimes you need momentum and this is a good way to get it.

      Get involved and look at your "competition" as potential partners rather than competitors.

      Interestingly enough, this is relevant to all things in life. Scientists are finding lots of animals that coexist and evolve together. Sure survival of the fittest still applies but it's not RAW competition.

      Strategy and hard work are a way to build lists...not purchased leads <===== POINT OF MY POST

        That's an excellent suggestion, Brad. Before you buy a list (if you are still interested in doing so after reading of some other experiences here), ask yourself what that list is supposed to do for you;

        • if it is to get one-time sales, it will probably get you one-time spam reports, along with any sales you may have.
        • if it is to build your list, it probably won't.
        • if it is to build a business, your best advice is to look elsewhere for that. Remember, slow and steady wins the race.

    I fell into the trap of buying leads in my last MLM and all it brought was Credit Card Debt. It's far better developing relationships via Web 2.0 approaches.

    actually, I wouldn't even bother with purchased list. Know one will know who you are and they will report you as spam.

    . Good lesson learnt. It might take some time to master the skill, but once you do, your business will never be the same. Cheers
