Right I am pretty experienced marketer make a decent income off and on line.

I dont get this blogging lark... anybody got a good ebook they can send me that will sum it up from start to finish...

You should just browse the Copyblogger blog and you should pick up the idea pretty quick. Then read the Copywriting 101 archive page. Blogging will generally not be to profitable unless you provide valuable content.

I did wonder when I first came here "who reads blogs?" But I must say I've started reading people's blogs and a few have come to read mine.

Rather than starting a forum thread or continuing a discussion, a blog gives you a place to put a random posting, thoughts, or write ideas that can later become articles. It's also a lot less hassle than a dedicated website for some.

As I said, Warriors is the first forum I've seen that has a blog section - and they probably pioneered it. Before long we'll be seeing it everywhere.

i personally think the differentiation between "site" and "blog" is total nonsense.

See Google "search the web"...."search blogs". Like blogs are no sites and dont belong to the web or something.

Besides there are ways to design/style a "blog" so it doesn't look like a typical blog.

I myself don't define a blog like "personal style blah blah"...but rather as type of site which is more dynamic, gets more and more frequent content than your typical "static" site. And blogs usually are already equipped with things like RSS and nice things like that.

So..its a more "enhanced" version of a site with more (so called) "web2.0" features. Thats how i see it.

ProBlogger site is good to know how to make money from blogging. By blogging, you build up on your personal branding and people start recognizing your name or business name.

I often use cryptic titles to get clickthrus - it's the curiosity factor - which gets people to your site. This applies to blogs as much as it does to ads or articles.

How many ads do you see that simply say:
Internet marketing
Home Business
Work From Home
Work At Home
Business Opportunity

stuff like that?

Blogs are far more personal, they add back in that personal touch. Put the networking back into network marketing, as it were.

If people see you as a person rather than an "opportunity" and you see them as a person before a "Signup" or "customer" you're already off to a good start in a relationship.

Just my opinion of course.

I started a blog last October and I think they are great.

My blog is about Bob Dylan and I post videos and comment on them.

I can easily get 100 people a day and every time I make a post I get some organic Google traffic. Not many but theoretically I could have 1000s of visitors if had 1000s of posts.

I was reading Paulo Coelho's blog the other day when somebody asked him
"Best piece of advice you have ever been given?".

Paulo's reply was simple:
"Don’t follow advices. Try it yourself."

I myself made this reply:
"So the best piece of advice you’ve ever given is not to follow advice but to try it for yourself. Genius! I’m certainly going to follow that advice! "

Alex pointed out that the best advice giver is our own intuition.

People who follow a famous blog often end up commenting at each other's blogs and it becomes the next step in the evolution of networking - one step further than even the forums take us.

Who needs Facebook?!

I like blogging for the networking aspect more than getting monetizing the traffic. Using your blog as way to network with new people is a good method especially in Internet Marketing to get more contacts and overall improve your online business.

I have met and networked with all kinds of new people since I started my blog and have led to unique opportunities that weren't possible before. So get blogging!

At first I didn't understand any benefits of blogging either and I thought it was really stupid. Once I learned to use Wordpress for SEO that all changed. Blogs are nearly the perfect platform to build a site that has maximum SEO already built-in. The ability to create a new page on the site in a matter of seconds by making a quick post, the ability to add all kinds of plugins to optimize it however you like, it just totally makes building plain html sites feel like a waste of time.

Actually reading and participating in blogs is great way to generate respect and interest in your own beneficial sources if you don't want to create a blog! Because when I've started reading other people's blogs and a few have come to read mine. Blog's always give you a place to put a random posts, or write ideas that can later become articles. It's much cheaper and easier to run than a full one website for some people. Great for SEO as well!

Blogging is becoming more and more in use in the off-line world, as well. Non-profits are using blogging as a way of connecting with their donors/potential donors, etc. So, the importance of blogging is evident online and off.

Semantically, that's true but here is one huge difference: when a blog post is written it is immediately syndicated to many big name sites (assuming, of course, that the owner has set up the blog properly). An HTML page isn't syndicated that way. Of course, the site owner can syndicate a new HTML post with a program like RSS Submit but (s)he has to take action to make this happen. If it's set up to auto-syndicate, then by definition it's a blog. Kind of makes my head spin.

nice way of explaining it cybrews. Personally I dont really get what I can do with blogging either. So when I post articles on my site I will copy a quarter of the article post it on my blog with a link going to my site then ping it. Before I know it google has crawled the page on my site. Then I will go and submit it to articles. Dont know if I am doing this the correct way or not but its working.

At first I didn't understand any benefits of blogging either and I thought it was really stupid. Once I learned to use Wordpress for SEO that all changed. Blogs are nearly the perfect platform to build a site that has maximum SEO already built-in. The ability to create a new page on the site in a matter of seconds by making a quick post, the ability to add all kinds of plugins to optimize it however you like, it just totally makes building plain html sites feel like a waste of time.

Actually reading and participating in blogs is great way to generate respect and interest in your own beneficial sources if you don't want to create a blog! Because when I've started reading other people's blogs and a few have come to read mine. Blog's always give you a place to put a random posts, or write ideas that can later become articles. It's much cheaper and easier to run than a full one website for some people. Great for SEO as well!

Non-profits are using blogging as a way of connecting with their donors/potential donors, etc. So, the importance of blogging is evident online and off.

Semantically, that's true but here is one huge difference: when a blog post is written it is immediately syndicated to many big name sites (assuming, of course, that the owner has set up the blog properly). An HTML page isn't syndicated that way. Of course, the site owner can syndicate a new HTML post with a program like RSS Submit but (s)he has to take action to make this happen. If it's set up to auto-syndicate, then by definition it's a blog. Kind of makes my head spin.
