Which page should I send traffic to?

So I have main blog site, a sales page for the full version of my product, and a sales page for the free version of my product (email opt-in page).

My problem is that I'm not sure which to send people to when I'm building links on blogs and forums and posting articles. I ultimately want them to go to the product page and BUY the product. At the same time I know that I can get more opt-ins that could convert to sales later if I send them to the sales page for the free version.

But I could also send them to my blog where they will get valuable content and still have the option to buy or opt-in through links and forms on the sidebar.

My question is: is there one of these three that I should send most of the traffic to? Or should I rotate all of them and build links equally?

I appreciate any help! Thanks!

You have linked all these pages right ?

Why not build link for all of them ?

I would give more priority to the conversion/sales page to the others.

    Cheers

i think you should send all your traffic to the free product to build your list. after you have built your list send them reminders: " hey, I got this really cool info on my blog. blah blah blah" sending those who opt in to your free product to your blog. you're going to have to build a relationship with people on your list if you want to make a bunch of sales of your product. AND once you have the list of free opt ins. you could always send them a link to the product you are selling.

Send them to the opt in page to build your list, after they confirm
      redirect them to your blog.

Send traffic to that page where you have described about your product or where you can get conversion.

  • Yeah as everyone else up there said - send them to the sales page first.
Build your list, then you can use your blog to build relationships with them by adding value (post something awesome).

Then allow some Social Media buttons for your leads to share it and hopefully your posts become viral. You can send blog posts to your leads via email.

If your leads love your posts, they will end up sharing it through the social media networks. Then their friends/contacts will see it and they will come to your blog, in which you also need to have an opt-in box somewhere in there too to capture new leads.

Then it all becomes a system. From sales page to email to blog post then social media then back to sales page and rinse and repeat.

You should send all your traffic to your squeeze pages IMO. It pays off in the long term sacrificing a few sales here and there.

    I'm thinking about 2 things:

    1. How relevant are the content from the traffic source? - If the blog article presells your product and has a clear call to action, maybe you should try directing cold traffic there? Only you can answer this.

    2. I suggest experimenting and tracking your users. This is a good way to really know how to redirect them properly. See which pair (traffic-content) converts the best. Tweak and test again. This is awesome because you'll get a good idea on the behavior of your prospects.

Try to drive traffic to the page which is first of all relevant to the search term and has lots of information at the first look which you could do by filling up content. I have seen Google is changing main site URLs which I have worked for with a keyword to one of my different page the second I ranked my site on #1. Make sure that your website's first 30% is filled with informative content as it is the main section search bots sees while moving. I assure you of getting faster results and high rankings on SERP.

I think keyword relevancy should be formeost in your mind or else you are going to put off your visitors. If you are directing them to the sales page, make sure add some related content

Thanks to everyone for the great input so far!

I'm opting to build my list first and foremost, so sending traffic to the opt-in page makes the most sense right now. I will be testing to see what converts the best, though. Thanks for the clarity!

The confirmation email automatically redirects to my blog and the autoresponder is a weekly newsletter where I can plug the paid version and link to the blog as well.
