Is there any way to close or delete an entire thread that you have started

    I believe not.

    You can, however, "report" your own OP and ask a moderator to do so (but I think you'd need a pretty good reason, especially if it's a "decent thread": it isn't something one can do "as of right"). It's always possible that other contributors could end up not being too pleased about a thread's disappearance. And sometimes a thread transcends its original expectations/intentions.

    You can only delete it before it gets a reply.
