How to add upsell to clickbank product?

Hello There,

Can you tell me how to add upsell to a clickbank product? I mean if a visitor buys something, how can I offer then an instant upsell after they have paid for the main product so that they don't have to enter credit card info again?

Thanks.

The simplest traffic funnel for a CB product is...
sales page>>processing page>>download (thank you) page

For an OTO you need to do two extra things. Set up a second product in your CB account. This will be the basic product AND the upsell product. Its price will be the price of your basic product plus the price of your upsell.

You will also need to have (2) download pages. One is for the basic product and one will be for the basic product PLUS the upsell product.

Here are the two possible traffic flows...

    sales page>>OTO page

    (a) customer declines OTO, clicks to order the basic product, taken to basic product processing page, sent to download page for basic product.

    (b) customer clicks to accept your OTO, taken to processing page for combo product, sent to download page for combo product

If you want to collect name/email for buyers you can insert sign-up page between processing page and download page.

    Hope that helps. Good luck!

Guptara, is this CB product one of your own, or one you're affiliated with?

      Hey Redmatrix..Its my own product

Hey mikemcmillan..Your suggestion is good. But I have seen some folks setup the salespage such that people buy the base product without knowing that there is an upsell involved and then may be after they buy the main product, the upsell is offered to them.

One way for me to find is perhaps purchase one of these products myself.

This is the alternative way but as pbk2009 mentioned above the
customer will need to re-enter his payment details

I've had success with a model similar to the one described by mikemcmillan.

Specifically, when the lead clicks Order Now on the sales page, I offer them a Regular Package vs Gold Package or Silver Package vs Platinum Package.

In other words rather than just offering them an additional product as an OTO, I tie the offer to the main product and label it, effectively, a premium upgrade at a discounted price.

Test your niche, but I have found that people are often more willing to pay "a few dollars more" to get a fully loaded Platinum option (because they deserve it, and hey, it's just a few dollars more) rather than a more blunt "Do you want product A or product A + B"

In real terms it's the same thing but in the mind of the purchaser there's a different emotional question to be answered.

          Good luck,

          Der

Your customer will have to enter their credit card info again.

But if you think this is a problem, then you might want to upsell
    before they purchase the product.

Once they arrive at the order page you let them add another
product to the order. But you also give them option to skip
that offer and order the first product only. From my experience,
many customers will opt for the upsell especially if the price is
right and the product compliments the first one.

    Good luck with your sales.

Guptara, ys--I know what you mean. I have had that happen to me and I don't like it. If I order a $97 product, the order is processed, and then I come to an upsell telling me that to get the full benefit of the product I need the upsell--I feel like I have bought part of the product and now they are asking me to buy the rest of it. Again, for $97 I expect to get an entire product. I don't like that technique.

Also, somewhere at Clickbank--in their terms of service, or maybe when I talked to a person there--they pointed out that CB encourages vendors to get buyers to the download page immediately after a purchase without hitting them with a bunch of other stuff. Still a lot of CB publishers do that.

      That's correct.

Your thank-you page should start with the download link to
the purchased product - then you can follow with your upsells
      and OTOs.

What you should not do is have the customer plough through
page after page of upsells ending with

"No thanks - just give me the basic package, I accept that I
will never see your fantastic offer of the Gold DeLuxe
version again once I click this button".
