Is this Legal? or a violation of TOS

Situation: I want to list amazon products on my custom site. I want to add depth to my site and create a custom product review page (pictures of the product, my own review, etc)

What I want to do: I want to use the text link from Amazon and attach it to a "Buy It Now" button. When a shopper clicks on the button, they are taken to the amazon.com site to complete the purchase.

Is this ok to do?

I'm not an amazon guru but I'm sure thats fine. Amazon offers some of their own buy buttons for associates: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...tes/help/t6/a9

Hmm.. am i missing something here? Would it not make sense to build a custom site then for affiliate products rather than use a plugin? Those plugins look sooo cheap to me.

    Is anyone doing this?

    Eva,

The best sites are custom built sites.

There are plugins that can help you drag the information from amazon instead of you having to download images and reviews then paste them to your site.

These save time and help you build your custom site faster.

I honestly believe that the sites that only use plugins to create the entire review site are going to be further penalized by google.

You need to make the content unique in some way and not just regurgitate content from amazon.

I think a custom site would be the way to go, it looks like there are some good wp and Joomla plugins out there, although I haven't tried a Joomla site yet.

However, for a lot of people just plugging in the code snippet Amazon provides is incredibly easy. Some of the widgets are pretty cool, but have those annoying 'widget' buttons. You can even create an Amazon store page relatively easily, and embed that.

So, quick and easy or more work and a professional look. Nice to have choices
