Do you get commission from sales of products that are only being sold through Amazon rather than being Amazon sold products?

Product I wish to target is only sold on Amazon via a third party retailer.

Yes - you receive commission on any amazon sales. For those 3rd party sellers, they collect 15% from the seller...so, amazon has no problem paying the much smaller tiered affiliate commission rates.

Any Amazon product you can put into your Amazon shopping card you will get the normal commissions even if its a third party seller however if you are redirected off Amazons site then you will not receive any commission.

    Kickin it on Amazon

Yip, spot on. I find Amazon converts amazingly well since people are already in the buying mindset when they are looking for a product. They are not looking for free info as they may be when they are looking for an info product. No one expects to get a coffee machine for free, so they are already happy to spend money which is a big help to the marketer.

The only issue I've found with 3rd party items is that sometimes it takes a while for them to ship and for you to receive the commissions. Remember that commissions are only credited to your account after the item has been shipped. I try to promote only products that Amazon either sells or fulfills the orders for.

This is true. But since Amazon computes your payments monthly (they don't know what commission percentage to pay you until the month ends) the only time the shipping delay would have an impact is if the delay crossed from one month to the next.

And how 'bout this.....looking for every silver lining I can find .....if they cross from one month to the next they might help you bump up to the next commission level in that month.

      Peace
