I want to make a big site like authority site what do you say?

I have planned to make a site focusing on my main keyword and a few more relevant keywords is it a good idea?

Is a big site better than small site as it can rank for many keywords?

    Depends what your goals are. Big authority sites take more time, but have much bigger earning potential. They definitely require a lot more work over the long run. If you want to manage more sites that are smaller, then less time is needed. But you'll have smaller earning potential (on average) with smaller sites.

    If I were you I would outsource building the smaller sites completely and then focus my time on building the authority site myself. This way you can have the best of both worlds.

    That doesn't sound like a big authority site. It sounds exactly like the plan for a small niche site.

    To create big authority sites you need several sub-sections and huge keyword lists for each section.

    It is better for many reasons, some of which are:
    - more reasons for visitors to come back
    - more pages for SEs to index and put on search result pages
    - much more succesfull longterm, because you can put all promotions into this site, instead of diverting it into 50 small niche sites.

    5 years from now small niche sites will be soooo dead.
