Twitter on autopilot...how?

I use TWhirl which sits in my system tray and notifies me of new tweets.

I've noticed today that some marketers seem to be sending promotional tweets all day long.

Now, either they don't eat and sleep or they have some automatic "set it and forget it" way of doing this.

Anyone know?

Cheers,

Neil

You can point Tweetlater at an rss feed and it will behave like an autoresponder. Every time something new shows up in the feed a tweet goes out.

If you're just sending promotional stuff, it's a good way to get people to unfollow you.

I use tweet later too, and you can send direct messages promoting your site on autopilot. Although I dont promote anything in my messages, I just say thanks for following.

I use tweetlater as well but be EXTRA CAREFUL of using it. You've got to balance out the number of people following you and your followers otherwise you can be suspended (that's happened to me when I first start using twitter).

imo it i better to build relationships on twitter interspersed with adverts... I think there is a better response rate there; i delete anyone who won't stop with the "spamming" of their offer. Adverts used more sparingly gives the impression of a friend letting them in on something instead of a robot constantly spamming them. depends on if you are doing personal branding tho... which i think is more effective in the long run.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

I'll have a look at TweetLater - after I've unfollowed the guy who's got me all tweeted out.

I don't think it's a great idea for even the most famous of internet marketers to blast out promotional tweets all day long - it's a turnoff for a lot of people. It's much better to interact with people in between the tweets.

But then, if you look at people like Willie Crawford, David Preston, Joel Comm, Yanik Silver, John Reese - they all take time to interact with people and join the conversation and solicit opinions - so I really think that most successful marketers Get The Concept.

    Hi Dana

    I agree with you.

The marketer in question has been doing this for months. I guess it must be working for him, or he wouldn't do it.

I guess it's just a numbers game to some people and the rights and wrongs don't really bother them.

    Cheers,

Well, that's the thing - certain tactics apparently work - even if they are annoying and offensive to a lot of people. Like the really out-there subject email lines that are discussed on here sometimes - or the use of clickbank snapshots showing huge earnings when it is ridiculously easy to fake them.

On this thread, I show how I totally automate a Twitter account with content:

This won't work in many situations, but there are a few were it can work...

I would suggest interacting and giving great content for FREE on Twitter..and the odd promo..if it is a really good deal.

I just finished up a massive course with over 20 video tutorials on called Twitter Lead Generation

I know, the salescopy stinks, and my salescopy guy is getting to it...I just put something up there.
