Selling service sites on Flippa - How are they doing it?

Hey everyone, the other days I was on Flippa, and saw many of these outsourced service startups like "Made $1024 in the first 10 days" etc.... you know I know you've seen them, they all seem to sell well. My question is, what's the big strategy? how do these startup sites generate those sales in the initaal days?

I know it is possible because I've done it myself with some projects I have, but I use paid advertising, these startups claim that the revenue is from free traffic techniques, any ideas?

Was there a WSO or a product that explained this method of site flipping?

What do you think?

I personally try and stay away from WSO's about flipping websites because something that may work for that person may not work for another. I like to make errors and then try and fix these errors the next time I sell a website.

I try to create simple turnkey service websites, that potential buyers may like to bid on. Many people love these sites because there isn't a lot of work to be done, and because of the money that most sellers claim to have made.

What I do, after I create these sites is, contact my list of subscribers that I have built that are looking for different services, such as the ones that I create.

For example; If I am making a new Twitter Followers service site, I will make sure I have a email list of those that are looking for cheap twitter followers or people that are looking for free followers. After I create the site, I will send an email out to my list explaining the new site that I found and about their support and services.

I usually try and build a list by offering free followers, on another website. This website will be different from those that I will be selling, but it will be centered around Twitter Followers.

I found this to be a good method, of course it may take some time to build a good list, but when you have a good list you can create and sell these simple turnkey service sites like nothing.

Of course you need to make sure you are getting traffic and sales from other sources besides your email list. The reason I say that, because I do not give my email list with the sale of the website. What I will give the buyer of the website is information on how to build their own list, and sometimes I will even try to build them their own .info website that will be just for collecting emails of potential clients.

Well, that is what I try and do, but remember you need traffic and sales from other places... Not just your email list.

It's possible they made the money running a WSO ... and sometimes it's a WSO that has pretty much run it's course.

Some of them say "secret" traffic method and won't tell the bidders. I steer clear of those.

I think all details of revenue should be completely transparent and verifiable. If it's not, I'm not interested.

I find the same thing. There are a lot of startups basically just registered in the past 10 days and they made like $1200-. Quite the claim!! But how are they fetching like $2400- for the auctions over and over?

Me-thinks it's a lot of dreamers and wishers hoping the sites will turn a profit right out of the gate.

Another thing is funny how some will go for these high prices but others get left in the dust making only peanuts in comparison.
