Q: How To Publish Sales Page Thru FileZilla?

So I have a main Wordpress Site, and I just had a sales page related to the main site made - I'd like to know how I can publish my sales page online correctly...

I've been googling this to try and get it figured out though to no avail...

My main site is a hosted domain I own on wordpress and I'm using Filezilla, what I'm unsure of is where to upload my sales page template too exactly. I tried doing it once and managed to change my main site to my sales page haha, so I undid that and am now trying to understand where it needs to go...

Any suggestions? If so you're wonderful and thankyou!

Put your sales page "index", like SalesPage.html in Pulic Html. Then you will find it: www.website.com/SalesPage.html

If you have images make sure you upload the image folder to your public html folder too.

I assume your sales page is a static html or php page, and not meant to be part of wordpress. So, it's not a wordpress theme file.

If this is true, here's how to do it:

The thing is: you can't publish the sales page as index page to your main folder / root folder. Because this would replace your wp site with your sales page.

The easiest thing to do is to create a sub-folder within the root folder.

So instead of uploading your sales page to:
      mydomain.com/index.php

      You'd upload to:
      mydomain.com/mynewfolder/index.php

Make sure the folder name does not conflict with your current URLs. For example, if you have an article:
      mydomain.com/coolarticle
then do not create your sales letter folder with the name
      /coolarticle

How does it look with Filezilla?
In filezilla you want your sales letter folder to be on the same level as the wp folders.
      wp-admin
      wp-content
      wp-includes
      mynewfolder

My assuption is that it s a static page outside of wp. A plugin doesn't make much sense.

By the way: it takes about 90 seconds to do the above process with filezilla. Finding and installing the plugin would be harder work.

Excuse my complete ignorance here, but why not just copy and paste it all into a Page on your WP site? Am I missing something?

Or is it because you are changing Themes?

Depending on your host, the cpanel is just as easy if not easier than ploughing through Filezilla.

Thanks everyone! Your feedback is very helpful! Yes, my sales page is a seperate static page with it's own theme, it's just a product I'm promoting related to my niche (my main site is my overall niche) - then I have my sales page which is promoting a product in that niche, I hope that makes sense haha

So I'll be uploading it through filezilla using the above advice, thanks a bunch - and happy soon to be St. Patty's Day! =)
