You cannot depend on your Internet business to run itself, even when you have a personal family crisis. It just doesn't work that way. I know this sounds cruel and harsh, but it is a fact of business and life. If you are selling a product or a service using the WSO or any other type of marketing, you must have a plan in place, in the event of an emergency. This applies doubly, when you sell your product or service and take payment in advance and specify a delivery date. Recently, I had ordered a service, with a promised delivery of 4 days. I waited until the 10th day after the order, before I tried e-Mail and PM contact to the seller. No response. Then follow up to seller again and finally got a response 2 days later. And 15 days after the order placed I finally received it. Even though the order, once fulfilled was satisfactory, except for being 2 items short and because of the way the transaction was handled by the seller, there is a very real possibility I will not trust him again nor do business with him, in the future. Yes, he gave a plausible explanation, but he demonstrated bad judgment in failure to monitor his business or make arrangements to have his business looked after in his absence. If you run an Internet business or off line business, be sure you have a plan B in place in the event of an emergency. Here are several suggestions you can put in place to make sure you don't tick your customers off and lose their business.
Now I'm stepping down off my Soap Box and going to go pet my dog. Ken The Old Geezer |
