Connect with people who matter on Twitter

If you are familiar with Twitter, you know one of the keys to building your following is to follow other twitter users.

A great way to build your following fast is to follow high profile twitter users. A high profile twitter user is someone who is either a guru or some kind of celebrity in their field.

We all know who the gurus are in the IM niche but there are gurus all over the place on twitter and following them can help build your following much more rapidly than simply following random twitter users.

High profile twitter users usually have huge numbers of followers and likewise wield an enormous amount of credibility.

I recently discovered Twellow, a free twitter tool that allows you to search twitter for gurus so you can immediately locate high profile twitter users in your various niches. I've found it to be really handy.

    Zachary,

Is there a way to search for niches on Twitter? For example, is there a way to find chiropractors, real estate agents, dentists, etc.?

    Thanks.

    Paul,

Yes, at twellow.com just enter a space " " for the search term in the advanced search, and choose the category, it will bring up all who are listed in that specific category.

      You're welcome!

The services, applications, and marketing techniques associated with twitter are evolving so rapidly that it's difficult to keep up.

I'm starting a blog here soon that will review all of this stuff on a regular basis.

It's funny how rapidly twitter became a vital tool for my business!

    • Oh, and don't forget to check out Bubbletweet

With this service you can create a video overlay for your profile that you can then link to. Really great for forum sigs and links on your blogs.

I haven't actually used this service yet because I haven't come up with a good video introduction yet.

Looks to be very powerful though!
