Another question on FTP. Sowwy ;)

I uploaded some PDFs into the public HTML as well, but they are not showing up when I type the address into my browser. Am I missing a step? I need to link them to a thank you page link.

If you uploaded them to the public html folder then they should be @
    http://yourdomain.com/filename.pdf

Yep, that is what I typed in, but I'm getting a 500 error message.

that's strange. 500 errors are usually database related.

try this, Charlotte. Create a directory called "pdf" in your public_html

and then upload the pdfs into that directory, and then you would need to access the files like so:
      http://yourdomain.com/pdf/yourfile.pdf

if you're still getting the error, I would contact your host.

      • I don't know what FTP client you're using, but make sure it's transferring your files in binary mode rather than ASCII.

Thank you so much Karen! I created the extra PDF directory and uploaded them in. It worked perfectly. I wish someone could teach me this stuff lol

Try to do always work out problems on your own, I always used to do this while coding and learnt the hard way. You'll waste a lot more time posting on here. Always, Google is your friend - it has far more information that the Warrior Forum. USE IT!

Oh yes, I used a tutorial and Google to look it up, but sometimes I just need the stealth ninja skills of the WF lol

Just double check you've ftp'd it into the right folder, or delete it completely from the public html and upload it again?

If you are still having problems with your file transfer after reading the helpful answers above you should record a quick screen capture video with you attempting to upload the file so warriors can tell you exactly what your doing wrong.
