Beginning is always hard. When I first started I didn't know what to do or where to look.

The best advice I can give you is stray away from buying anything yet. First read free resources on all the ways to make money in IM. There are ton of them on google. Once you understand over all strategies then you can purchase a step by step WSO that will teach and guide you how to make that a reality.

If you start buying wso's now one will till you to seo a site and get it ranking to promote aff products and some other one will tell you to go get local clients and sell them fb fanpages. This will totally confuse you.

I think many new to the industry think either:
      1) its easy money
      2) do steps 1 2 3 and watch the money roll in
      3) dont think of it as a real business

When I first got started I had these same thoughts. I learned fast that to make it in this industry you have to get rid of those thoughts and take on a new mind set.
If your serious then you need to think of this as a business. You are starting a business and it will take time to get things off the ground. Use the experiences and lessons learned by your fellow Warriors here to get over some hurdles.
This is not an easy 1 2 3 step industry. I would recommend purchasing a great marketing book to help you along. Cashvertising by Drew Eric Whitman is a great resource that you should have next to you and reference whenever you are writing sales copy and ads. Marketing is a process we all must learn in this industry. Learn it well and you can change the Interest of your prospects into Intent. Thats when you will win and profit.
      Feel free to contact me.
Im here to help you build your business.

Browse the War Room for a while, there is plenty good, free content posted in there everyday. Just make sure to use your best judgement and common sense when taking in any advice. If you're open to a good, step by step program for beginners, I would recommend Andrew Hansen's Unstoppable Affiliate.

Finally, I would recommend to take in as much high quality information you can before you even start building sites or promoting products. People always say 'Take action as soon as you can!" But the thing is, if you dive in head first and you're unprepared, you will probably fail and that is the point where most internet marketers give up. Take your time to just consume knowledge and build a game plan. Then tweak that plan over and over until you work out all the flaws. I started educated myself on IM about six months ago but haven't began to 'take action' until a few weeks ago. Now I'm prepared for many obstacles that come my way and there won't be a major learning curve while I try to build up a system. If you treat IM for what it really is- A business, then you can do fine.

    Good luck.

I know just how you feel. At first it's very frustrating but don't forget that applies to any business online or off line. It you're new to something, frustration can rule supreme.

Please do not buy anything yet, take the advice already given by a lot of warriors, find free resources - there are so many on the web. Research, check and experiment.

Also, keep your goal/desires/dreams in the front of your mind. When frustration sets in, just remember your MAIN reason for starting online, take a deep breath and keep going.

It can take a long while to become successful, don't fall for the 'get rich quick do nothing scams'. Patience and persistence are the keys to making it online.

Study and learn all you can, then go with a method you're comfortable with.

Don't get frustrated and give up or anything like that. It's not a race. Making money online is about finding a legit business model, finding a quality program that teaches it and implementing what you learn. There are some methods that pay quicker than others, but it's not something that happens over night. Your income grows over time as your knowledge and skill sets increase.

With that said, there are a number of models you can choose from. The fastest way to make money online is by being a service provider. Perhaps one of the most common ways to do this is by writing content for other people (ghostwriter). It's in big demand because regardless of the business model, quality content, especially written, is a must. Perhaps the biggest benefit of ghostwriting is being able to get paid via Paypal. I recommend you check out Ghostwriting Cash.

Perhaps the most common way to make money online is by promoting other people's products and earning a commission for every sale made (affiliate marketing) via a blog on the Wordpress platform on your own domain. The income is residual (thanks to traffic from the search engines), but the payout isn't immediate. There are a number of other benefits as well. I recommend Unstoppable Affiliate for this.

    Good luck,
    Joey

For me I learned through working for several clients. It was not their intention to teach or mentor me, of course, but I learned from them anyway. So I got paid - to LEARN! Maybe you can take the same route I did. It was never my intention to be in this kind of business, it just worked out that way. It took me awhile to grasp how it works, not that it's really complicated. There's just too many to learn. So you have to have a lot of patience, persistence, passion for learning, and must be adaptive to change. Because the learning curve for internet marketing is dynamic.

I totally forgot about that thread, but I agree it is great for frustrated newbies.

So, this last week I had to nuke my server with over 4 years of work on it.

I just started rebuilding in the past few days - and I am probably more understanding of the frustrated new person than I ever was before.

I am so grateful for the knowledge I already have - and overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I have to do to get things kicked back up again.

Even with all that I know it is likely going to take me a few months to feel like I have some of my own controlled content and flow on the web again.

I have a direction - but I can see how others with no direction could be easily pulled all over the map and get a lot of nothing really accomplished.

I highly recommend to the OP to check out EBR's post.

It is deceiving, because it looks like a short post - but if you follow the instruction on it you may be busy for a month or two before you are able to narrow down just what you want to do really.

BUT - taking the time to do this NOW will save you months and months down the line. It is also likely to save you money and wasted time on unfocused attention to things you don't or won't need.

Do yourself a huge favor and really go through that list.

Don't be naive and thought that IM doesn't require effort, time and it's gonna generate Easy money etc..

it's just like any business you have seen.. it requires time, effort and MONEY to operate

Just hang-on, once you pass by the initial stage of IM.. It's gonna be Super enjoyable!

Find what work best for you, and work hard on it, there are many ways to make money online CPA, Product creation, Niche sites, Affiliate marketing, website flipping etc.. 1 big mistake i made during my early stage in IM was trying out many different projects all at once.. And in the end, not only did I waste lots of time, I was also feeling very frustrated and wanna give up.

I'm sure you'll reach your goal in IM, just take consistent action and don't give up You'll get there..

    God bless you,
    Jeremiah

There are a lot of free WSOs out there as well that may be able to help you. Yes, I have a free WSO I posted recently, I won't deny it, but that's not why I mention it. When I first came here, I grabbed quite a few free WSOs that were really good - in fact, I couldn't believe people were actually giving this stuff away. Just search in the Warrior Special Offers forum for "FREE" or something similar (most of the free ones start their threads with, logically enough, the word "FREE").

    Hope that helps,

What you need to do is to choose a method you want to make money online. Affiliate marketing, Adsense, CPA marketing, PPC, etc. Once you have chosen a method, read up & focus on that. The main thing is you need to focus.

It's not easy to make money online. You must have the perseverance. Things will get tough. However, it's not as difficult as what you'd think. Once you get a hang of it. It will be easy.

Since you're interested in online marketing, do you have any product that you want to market? Remember internet marketing is promoting and selling products via the web. What are you planning to sell? Before you decide on how to market your product think of "a product" to market first whether its an actual product, service or even knowledge and information. Once you have a product, think about your target market and how you can reach them. That is where you should start. With your situation at home maybe you can work out something with your wife. For instance, you can work from home while she gets a regular job. That's how we are doing it at home.

That's what you experience when you start of, because there are too many things to choose, and way too much confusion because of it.

You best take some time and study diverse areas of internet marketing - it will take some time until you found something suitable. It's best to get involved with something that matches your strengths and natural tendencies.

I think a good idea would be for you to study the warrior forum as well as go to Google and do a bit of research on what is bothering you. What I did when I first started internet marketing was just that as well as purchased a few clickbank products that fit my needs. I found that after all of that was done, internet marketing became a breeze. I hope this helps.

I know that feeling all to well. It's good that you have joined the war room. It is so important to remain focused because it is so easy to become distracted and begin to jump around from one new object to another which will further confuse you and complicate things. Try to get as much free info that you can from the war room before you begin purchasing anything. If you can find a mentor to follow. Make sure you do your research first before working with anyone.

There are many ways to make money with IM I suggest once you find the one that works for you stick to it and don't bounce around thing to thing. Most people find a certain niche and stick to it until they make it work.

The most important thing that I have learned is to always make a effort to build a list in your niche.

Start from the basics and then grow up gradually.

Don't buy stuff after stuff without knowing what are you buying.

I tell you, building a list would probably be the best advice you could get.
Pick a PLR product that comes with the squeeze page, upload it to your website, put the autoresponder code, promote it here and there(Forums, YouTube, articles) by offering it free of charge and here we go, you're building a list.

Afterwards, you can promote yours or others' products to your list, so you'd have a long-term income just from that list.

    Good luck!

Unless you get lucky, you're not gonna make money by randomly jumping into anything without doing some research. Do a bit of research, pick an area that intrigues you, then to more focused research in that one area. Me and my partner spend 12+ hours per day. If we're not doing something that's directly earning us money, we're researching and learning new ideas and techniques.

If you are losing motivation I suggest you do what I did and build a facebook account. Get inside your markets mindset and start posting controversial issues.

For me, I sell high efficiency energy systems.

I was trying everything in the world to get leads.

One day I found myself on facebook writing headlines about the oil crisis, about the clean energy revolution, how homeowners would be paying enornmous prices for energy in the near future if they didn't do something to make their homes eco friendly.

I kept doing this over and over not really trying to sell anything. Just motivating people towards WHY it would be SMART to get an energy audit/assessment ran on their home.

I never once had a call to action, or ever tried selling on that page. People message me when they are motivated enough, and ask me if I know of any trustworthy companies who do home audits.

So guess what I do? I send them a link to my own company. Because I don't mention that company 1 time, they think I'm giving them an unbias recommendation. They wind up calling in, we sell them high efficiency systems.

Take this little blueprint, revise it, and make it work for yourself.

If you waste a lot of time planning it out, and start to lose motivation, they means you should just get on facebook and start testing things out. Don't waste too much time planning yes its good but you need to get out there and interact with people because where the real money is made.

I definitely think you can do it if you just reorganize your goals, focus on one thing, and work that one thing till it delivers for you. If you're focusing on 4-5 things at once, its gonna take 4-5 times the amount of energy and focus to get just 1 of those things working. Or thats what I usually find.

I think there is some great advice already given to you on this thread.

I agree with Elmar there is a ton of great free info to start with before you decide what area you really want to go into.

Hang in there and just keep gathering pearls of information. Getting started is hard but once you find what works for you and what interest you it will become second nature.

The main thing I think is to find what interest you not someone else. If it is something that you are passionate about then you will be able to write passionately about it and will be able to sell to your target much easier then trying to copy cat what someone else is doing. Dig deep and try not to be influenced by what someone else is good at selling.

Its very easy get seduced by all the bright and flashy wso here.

Find your comfort zone. Start small.
Meaning find what avenue of IM you want and feel comfortable starting with.
    Affiliate and CPA
    Adsense
    Amazon
    Domain Flipping
    Selling a Service etc..

Then choose a wso related to your start zone or invest in a war room upgrade and there are many FREE items handed out in war room for war room members only. My membership has paid for itself over and over again for this very reason.

It is easy to spend a fortune on WSO and get nowhere and feel cheated. Start slow and in one area then slowly expand.
    Hope that helps.

I personally started with amazon and adsense sites and have recently been exploring cpa offers. I have a steady income now from adsense and amazon and am comfortable expanding to world of cpa offers.

I'll tell you from first hand experience all these people are right about how important it is just to focus on 1 thing.

And a lot of business owners/marketers in general have a very hard time doing this. Its because we live in an information based industry. Our own survival is somewhat based on the information we take in and apply in our own lives.

So one aspect of us always feels like we NEED more and better information.

Then there is logic. We are only one person, we need to swallow our egos and understand what is practical and what is not. So I REALLY SUGGEST like everyone has already said, focus on just one thing. Refuse to read about anything else untill you totally understand that one thing.

Apply it to your life. And once again refuse to read anything else untill you understand the deeper mechanics of what you're focused on.

THEN, when it begins to work, it will become THAT MUCH EASIER to focus on it. This is how my life always seems to work. If I'm working on something thats not delivering immediate results, a part of me is ALWAYS distracted and feeling like "I need to be doing something else at the same time". Its such a horrible set back for me every single time if I do venture off into other ideas.

Focus & organization are really 2 of the best virtues any businessman or marketing consultant can have. They have the ability to filter out nonsense. They realize it takes time to invest in 1 thing before it works. They grasp the power of having a system and plan.

And really thats all it really comes down to imo. If you can do this, you're already ahead of most of the population.

      hey star

listen i know that frustration but trust me it's not worth it, it's actually alot simpler then you think. ok below are the different kinds of IM:

      1. affilliate marketing
      2. cpa/ppc marketing
      3. email marketing

the list goes on and on.... now the thing you have to udnerstand is pick one of them and stick to that model, educate yourself on that one model so

e.g. when i firsted started out i started with affilliate marketing, this model if you do it correctly and know what your doing you can build a solid business around this model.

list building is the second major model, you will hear alot of different saying's such as 'the money is in the list' etc ... this is all to do with list building.

get familiar with these types of models and educate yourself, if you do have the cash then get yourself a mentor, if not then learn from this forum people are willing to help you in here

Look at the all-in-one threads at the top of the page. They'll explain a lot about many different methods.

Pick one and then do a search for that method. This will pull up a lot more information.

No one can explain to you in this thread all the different ways of making money online because there are too many. Plus, we don't know what your talents, interests, and skills are. Once you discover a method you're interested in or think you could be good at...then ask specific questions and many warriors will be happy to help you.

I would start by studying the top affiliate marketers in IM like Ryan Deiss, Jeff Johnson, Yanick Silver, Mike Filsaime, etc and learning from their free information posts, see who they work with and collect more and more info from these people that have been around the block. They will steer u in the right direction as to what books, newsletters and blogs to read re: Affiliate Marketing. You really need to develop a bit of a presence first as well to build ur list, credibility, etc. Also, you will probably not get any good JV Partners or Affiliates until you establish your own platform. And work the forums! Good luck!

I remember those days when I first started and it was very frustrating. I could never decide exactly where to start. You should read all you can and you can learn a lot by just reading this forum. Learn from a mentor who knows what they are doing who can help you get where you want to go. Don't give up. It's a hard road but very much worth it when you get there.

One key thing is to take action and try things... Some people are forever in the "still learning" phase. They keep consuming product after product and never do anything with it.

I can also guarantee that you will do things that will fail. You may lose money and feel frustrated. Don't worry though as this is all part of the learning process.

Have you ever check what resources you have currently right now? If so, you better create a business plan. Indeed, being a newbie is not easy you have to go through several obstacles. But take these stuff as challenge don't ever let these things bring you down.

Take this advice you are going to have your ups and downs in learning this business I'm sure everybody on this forum struggled when they first started that normal because your learning something new this affiliate marketing is not a joke if you think like this and be focused you will see success.

If your feeling overwhelmed step back away from the computer for a few days let the info sink in and return back to the computer a few days later. learn a bit more in a few days then take a break it will be much easier that way.

I would suggest you go through chris farrel 21 days to success. It free it a step by step guide to IM. Or steve clayton Mining Money Online, it also free.

If you want to know more about the different IM, steve clayton free Mining Money Online course is pretty conprehensieve. Mostly talks about clickbank but he also touch abit on physical product as well and other ways to make money in IM.

These are the 2 i know that are good and free.

I would suggest finding something you like and feel comfortable with. Something that feels like a good fit for you.

Then apply 100% of your focus into it and don't stop (or get distracted by shiny object syndrome) until you make it work.

Only move onto the next thing after you conquer one.

    Good luck

First of all, don't be frustrated, things will get harder if you do that. You need to get your head in the game and make plans that will lead you towards your internet marketing goals. As they say, the will to win means nothing without the will to prepare. There are a lot of professionals in this forum, take time to meet them and learn from their experiences. There are so much to learn here so just enjoy and don't push your self too hard.

I hope you discover the secret for your success soon!

I'd say read as much as possible in the beginning, to learn about all the different ways in which you can earn money online. You can do so on free WSO's, posts on the forum, some other free resources on the Internet.

You'll soon realize what is crap and what would work for you and then you can start implementing stuff.

Or, after you have some proper knowledge of how things work, you can even get a coach.

Stay away from WSO for right now until you get more established. I know they are tempting but you need to learn how to say "no" for now.

Internet Marketing is for those people who love to stay busy. It can be difficult and frustrating when first starting out.

First of all - you need to learn the basic web skills and then understand how to implement them such as, what to do first, where to go and what goes where and in what order.

Once you learn these basic web skills, you can then advance and take everything to the next level. The hardest part about this business is the "getting started" part.

Once you get beyond the "getting started" part - it becomes much easier to achieve your goals of what you want to do.

You want to find someone who is willing and capable of "showing" you what to do. That's why training videos for beginners are the best place to start.

Internet Marketing Academics is a good example of such training. They have a free membership site and cater strictly to the beginner. As of this post - they are doing very well and are in the process of adding more free training in the near future.

You might want to check them out and then go from there.

I here ya!! I was their too...Don't get frustrated, it's like an apprenticeship. First you have to learn, then you apply all that you have learned, then you tweak it. The money part should come in at the tweaking stage.
Some get lucky and make money right off the hop, but I assure you that's not typical.
Would you buy a car off of someone who mailed you a half asked letter or talk to a salesmen that they themselves have no idea about wjhat the heck their selling?

If I give you 1 piece of advise, it would be to stick to 1 thing. That dosn't mean 1 website or 1 ad, I mean 1 marketing technique and become the master of it.

The hard part is to decide which form of marketing should I do and give it a good go.
If your just starting you can rule out a few things right off the hop, I'm guessing that you don't have a list yet, so selling off your list is OUT.
If you don't have a list you need to make 1.
The easiest way I have found is PPC.
Make up a banner for an opt-in free (plr) product of your niche
    Use Mailchimp for now-it's FREE
Get out to the networks and budget like $100 for maybe 2-3 keywords if you can, try to stay under .20, that way you have 500 opt-in's
Now you have a list...YAY and go from their.

What ever you do, just do the work, give it a good shot (bit of time) and you will be successful.
Once you find something that works for you- just duplicate it, it will get easier the more you do.

    Hope this helps

My main advice is to have a vision - ask what you want? Yes, for a newbie is very difficult to decide, what information and sources you can trust in, while there are so much information... I wonder, that many (not all) of WSO use psychological manipulation tricks, that seems like fraud, but when you understand this, you will learn to separate trust sources.

    Frustrated before even starting???
So that suggests that you are not frustrated by some project you are doing, maybe you are actually confused as to what you want to do?

Then you want to speed to figure it out?

You are Columbus landing on North America and are "frustrated" because you
Don't know where you want to live, but you need to know NOW!!!
(For no particular reason other than you don't realize that you need to know the lay of the land, to decide that)!

I say quit being in a hurry and learn the various worlds that are here. Just like suppose you wanted to open a Pizza shop offline, you DON'T NEED TO KNOW HOW TO BE A HAIRDRESSER TOO!

Many people suggest that you sell other peoples stuff as a starter. This makes sense unless you have some products that you have created. Otherwise, why not do that? Find products at Click Bank, and other places like Amazon and learn how to sell them!

You need cash, places to find potential buyers like Search Engines, ads on blogs, ads in newsletters or creating a website, SEO (Search Engine Optimize) it, make a landing page, with an email catching system and you are good to go.

Then you just explore the worlds of products to sell, and the worlds of finding buyers.

    Simple right?

The search engines and Warrior Forum can help you find these answers.

    Thanks

Hello Star :-), I can understand your frustration. Few months back it was the same with me. I was lost and confused! Then I hired a mentor. He taught me everything about WSO's. How to do them. How to do research and product creation. How to monetize that. How to build list with that and how to monetize this also. There were many more things into his coaching program on how to do internet marketing. I would highly recommend, find someone who knows how to do that! That way is the fastes and most effective. I did that and can't express enough how great move that was!

Wish you a big success online :-)!
