Does anyone know script like Aweber?

Hey, just been looking over at Aweber.com and was looking at some of the pricing once you go over 500 sunscribers, shocked.

I was wpondering if anyone knew of any script out there I could install on my own servers to run my mailing list? I would need it with the main features of Aweber (Auto Responders, stats etc.). If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great.

I've used ListMailPro. It's a solid tool, has been around for a few years. I use Aweber now, by the way, but if you want a self-hosted solution, LMP is a good option

Thanks for the replies guys. askloz, I should have mentioned in my first post I had googled it (always my first port of call), just wanted to see what scripts guys on WF used, if any. Think im going to go with getresponse, messing around with crontabs is abit beyond me.

Get a copy of interspire internet marketer and run it off your server/vps after asking your host to enable reverse DNS and install SPF records and DKIM.

This will be cheaper once your list crosses 10k when the aweber pricing kills you.

Big list owners have high price to pay if they go with third party autoresponder services. It seems server maintenance and maintaining services like Habeas by these third party services making them more pricey.

Though an email can be sent without a penny cost to you, software that sends it cost email merketer an arm and leg

stay away from that one mate... they had a malworm exploit the other day and some guy hacked phpbb3.com they were down for a week, yup, i know they had an old version of phplist, but even still, scary.

If you've got a list of over 10,000, surely you know what you're doing list building wise, right? I would assume you would also know something about monetizing that list and would have been doing so as you reach that level.

Then surely $149 is no big deal since you can quite easily make that back and more each month from your list. You can make a pretty good income even with a list of 500-1,000.

And if you figure in the fact that AWeber and others are constantly on top of deliverability issues, which requires time, money and effort, doesn't it make more sense to focus on other business building issues and leave that stuff to the experts?

I'm all for saving money where I can but there are just some areas where it's best not to do-it-yourself, to leave it to those who know how to and can do it better. Unless you have the knowledge, skills and resources to get the job done yourself initially AND keep on top of it.

If I had a list of 10,000 then I know what I'd be doing - find out how I can better serve them and give them what they want. The $149 or however much would be a non issue.

I also believe it's a mindset issue. If you have an off-line business and it cost you $149 to send direct mail to 10,001-25,000 people, you wouldn't think twice.

eh?... c'mon dude..

If people thought like that. because of isolated incidents, Wordpress would have died years ago... instead it has grown into the most powerful, dynamic and flexible script known for its purpose..

Most of my business runs on Wordpress, if I got reclusive every time a WP install got slammed with issues..I'd go insane...

I do see what you are saying, but to ignore a script with the power of phplist over one issue isn't the best advice you could give...

Just my opinion though.
