No doubt some will fall for the scam, it's not only this forum but many others that recieve those posts. Perhaps the joining should be more rigorous.

The thing is, I thought new members couldn't post any links until they had 15 posts?

PayPal has an extra security device that attaches to your keychain. Each time you login, it asks you for the security code on the little fob.

The fob has a tiny screen and 1 button. You hit the button, and a new 6 digit numeric code is generated. You type it in and go.

After 30 seconds the device turns back off and the next time you hit the button, a different number comes up.

PayPal charges $5 for it, shipped, so everyone with more than a few bucks in their account should have one.

No, it's pre-programmed into the device. I'm sure it's just some sort of encryption string/algorithm that is generate inside the device, as well as on the account end of PayPal, so things match up.

I've come to the conclusion that the scammers/spammers and the clueless deserve each other.

Really - if you are so naive that you believe "money in 5 minutes by clicking a link"...there's no hope for you until you dig your smarts out from under the rock you're sitting on.

I've seen members asking for new sections for various topics - maybe we need one for "clueless".

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Youd be amazed at the number of people who fall for such scams. Look at the number of videos on youtube that provide "gmail password hacker" and "msn password hacking trick" just your good old phishing 101
