Hi guys,

I have been reading this forum for a couple of months now and I think its great... everyone is so helpful and really quick to reply aswell! For anyone who doesn't know me, I am a complete newbie and have started to do a bit of Article Marketing, I previously asked for help in writing articles and thanks to everyone who replied, I will be in contact with you shortly (if I haven't already replied).

I wanted to ask an opinion if I may.

Which is better and more effective:

1. Submitting your articles to say one article directory and then waiting for results before submitting to 100; or

2. Submitting to 100 for mass niche domination.

I am also trying to find ways of tracking my articles to see which ones led to a sale... does anyone know a good way of doing this?

Also, does anyone know where I can get a good article submitter software at a reasonable price (free if poss)!

Thanks and hope everyone is well.

Regards

    Peter,
Submitting your articles to 100's of sites can be a huge waste of time and anybody that has been doing article marketing knows this. Do not fall for the hype you hear about submitting to 100's or 1,000's of article directories.

You do not need to do this for the simple reason many sites have no traffic at all and some sites are just a waste. I have one article now that I submitted to a site in Nov 2008 and it still is not approved. I constantly test article directories so this is how I know which ones are useless...

First and foremost to answer your questions.

Create a blog and submit your articles to your blog, wait a few days. If you have ping plugins and site map plugins installed on your blog then you can get the search engines to pickup your post pretty quick.

Next you want to submit your article to some of the top article directories such as what is listed here - List Of Top 50 Article Directories By Traffic, PageRank - You do not need to use all of those, it is upto you but those are some good article directories.

As for tracking - I use my cpanel stats (AWSTATS) which give very detailed reports on your traffic. I always keep upto date with my stats.

As for article submission software, I am sure many will run in here and give you links to junk ones that are free. Remember though you do get what you pay for. The problem with article submission software is that they do not use the actual sites categories.

Why is this important ? Because if you select the generic category and the article directory does not even have that category then most of the time the article will be rejected. If your artcle is selected then it may be placed in the wrong category and that would not help you at all.. If you have articles about babies but your article is tossed inthe business category then what good does that do you ??? None, because your article will get ignored or reported to the site admin.

I highly suggest manual submission to some of the top article directories. Yes it takes time but in the long run it is time very well spent.

I'm a million years away from being an authority on the issue but from the research I've been doing, I think you'll have far more success if you just submit a few quality articles to the top sites. As another warrior pointed out, many of the ones out there don't get any traffic in the first place.

      Best of luck to
