Hi all,

Does anyone know a good service here on the warrior forum that creates good e-book covers. Can't seem to find any though?..

Thanks

There are probably tons of them. I'm sure I've seen dozens that produced decent looking product.

Thomas does nice work. Portfolio at Cover Design Portfolio of eCoverDesign - Professional Graphic, Minisite and Cover Design

It's cheaper, but a lot uglier! I hate fiverr for stuff like this.

If Fiverr works for you, great. I don't mess with it, so I couldn't comment on the finished products those folks put out. Probably a pretty wide range of quality in the results anyway.

Personally, I like to work with people I trust, and whose businesses are more stable. Also, I know folks like Thomas, or Max Rylski, aren't going to give me something with images they stole off some stock photo site and get me sued.

I wouldn't be anywhere near as confident of that with someone from Fiverr.

I tried 6 or 7 different people in the process of getting a template for a project that fit my requirements. I wanted simple. Plain black and white, minimal graphics, etc. My usual "ugly, all words" format.

The first two or three sent me their idea of what I should be using, which looked exactly nothing like what I asked for. I mean, come on... How does bright green with flames on the title fit "black and white and simple?"

I started sending the rest a template I'd been using and asked them to get me something like it, but with X, Y, and Z changes. 2 more sent me stuff that looked nothing at all like what I asked for. One was sort of close, but missing an important element: Simple. (Why is that so hard for designers to get?)

Thomas got it so close to right the first time it took only very minor modifications to be exactly what I wanted. To me, that's worth paying a little more.

It matters, though, that I have a specific image in mind for that project, and it has a branding purpose that fits with my other publishing efforts in that market. If you don't have a plan, and just want something that doesn't look totally amateurish, you have a wider range of choices.

Not in my experience. All three of my Kindle #1 bestsellers have covers made at fiverr.

If you're getting lousy work from someone at fiverr, it's because that person is doing a bad job. Has nothing to do with fiverr, which is just a place for individual sellers to advertise their work. You can find poor work almost anywhere, and I've paid a lot more than $5 for graphics that were so bad they were unusable.

I get all that kind of stuff done over at fiverr. Search for ebook covers and then sort them by rating and you'll have lots to choose from.

Never had a problem and for 5 bucks you can't really go wrong

I beg to differ. I had a few things done on Fiverr that were great but ebook covers were not part of that batch. I had to ditch those and check out WSOs for this. Fiverr is hit and miss and not really useful for bigger jobs - unless you want to pay several gigs, but then, where's the advantage of Fiverr??

        I totally agree with Paul.

You really MUST make sure that any graphics used by whoever you use to design your cover does, indeed, have the rights to use those images. If in doubt ask. I'm sure that any reliable and professional graphic designer will be more than happy to provide proof.

        Cheers

You can either outsource it at Fiverr for just $5 or on the warrior forum (warrior for hire or warrior special offer section) there are lots of Warrior members that can get the job done for you

Or you do it yourself at eBook Cover Creator

I agree with some previous comments which suggested you to go for fiverr. Yes you will find your solution rather easily if you head there.

But before ordering you should have a conversation with the seller.

I have had eBook covers made at Fiverr and they were both great. Look for someone with a lot of good feedback and orders in the queue.

Do you have the images that you want used? Like are they already created? (The images for the front, side, top, CD, etc?)

If so, just send them over to me.

I'll turn them into ecovers for you free of charge.

I tried Fiverr for eBook covers and it took me a while to finally find someone that was reasonably good AND I had to buy my own image from a stock photo site and give her to work with. It certainly was cheaper than what a Pro here on the forum would create but it wasn't as great.

Thanks Guy's for the positive comments.

I know some of you are suggesting Fiverr but I'm serious about my product that's why i was asking for resources here.

I'll have a look at the links some of you provided me.

      Thanks again

had several covers made both from here and fiverr. there def are some top notch designers here, but they can get costly.

there's a guy on fiverr name daniel i've used about 10 times or so. he does great work for cheap, is friendly, fluent in english, and is very responsive to any changes or other requests. i pretty much go to him now for all my small graphics projects.

It's not on Warrior but you might want to check out eBook Cover Creator | Free Online eCover Design. It's either free or $3.95, depending on which cover you choose. They are first class covers, too.

    Hey blend, shameless plug alert!

Over at Custom ebook cover design | Killer ebook cover graphics we have been creating ebook covers for Warriors since about Aug 2000. In fact the very first cover I created was for a fellow Warrior who asked for it on this forum.

We are more expensive then the covers you will find on fiverr.com but I am a firm believer in getting what you pay for.

We will often use multiple images on the covers we design, and ALL images we use are purchased from sites like iStockPhoto.com. And, the images we use often cost over $5.00 - $10.00 EACH, also our in-house designers will spend upward of 3-4 hours designing and revising your cover.

Let me know if you have any questions or if I can help in any way.

    Vaughan
