I know a lot of warriors know about this but, worth mentioning again.

there is a current Russian scam asking members to log in to verify their accounts. Paypal would NEVER ask anyone to do this!

please ignore any such requests

The difficulty is that PayPal does ask customers to verify their accounts. Mine closed. I am not reopening, because if they will close it on a whim when there are no concerns, I don't trust them.

It's what you do when no one is watching
that determines what you will be able to
    do when everyone is watching.

This recently happened to a business contact of mine. He had a great deal of money tied up in his account and they closed it due to a fraudulent account that had been created with his information. They told him since it's an identity theft issue that occurred with someone in his state (in America), he has to take the issue up with the police there. They refused to give him his money flat out. Very frustrating and it makes me want to use Paypal less and less.

I got one of these every day for a few weeks. I just logged into my account and saw there was nothing out of the ordinary. Then I changed my password just in case. Thanks scammers, you reminded me to protect myself against you

I just got the same message! But I could tell it was phony, sorry but most of the attempts are pretty lame and obvious.

I got one of those at two of my e-mail addresses already. Not a very sophisticated scam though. You hover over the link and it's easy to see it doesn't go to PayPal at all.

This is why I would never login to paypal.com if I had any concerns, it's much easier to just call them up and find out what's going on with the account.

My general rule is to never click on a link within an email from any company such as Paypal or Ebay. If you have any doubts or think it could be real, then go straight to your Paypal account through your internet browser and NOT through the link in the email.

If there is any verifications to be made you should find a note about it in your account.

Please take the trouble to report all of these spoof emails to Paypal directly, just get the email header information and post this and the email contents to their spoof reporting dept.

By doing this small thing you will be helping to protect everyone who uses Paypal especially those unsuspecting souls who could ill-afford to have money taken from their accounts.
FYI I reported 5 of these last month, and haven't had any since so Paypal does take action against this scum.

Send paypal, on what you received, instead of just exposing it here, so it can be taken care of its proper channels.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Paypal could have taken sufficient actions so that no hackers try to hack into their customer's accounts and steal the information. This issue has become a great deal among Paypal users and there's even chance that many user's may drop out from Paypal to do online transactions in a much safer website. Paypal should warn its user's about the possible threats well before they are attacked.
