I have never made any money. I just started though three months ago with my first site. I never got to page 1 on Google so I obviously didn't sell anything. The niche was a bad idea anyway, it was lawn mower reviews. Who is going to order a lawn mower online? Anyway, my biggest obstacle right now is not having any real-life people to confide in about IM. All I have is forums and online communication. I know it would help if I had IM mentors and friends in real life.

My other obstacle is figuring out what to believe about online marketing. There is so much information out there it's hard to decide what to do. I'm currently brainstorming and racking my brain for site ideas. Should I make an affiliate marketing site? Can I use **** content and still make money? Should I make an information product? These are the types of questions I have.

Far more than you might believe. Ask Amazon. How about hedge trimmers, weed eaters, pruning shears... etc...?

It might, but you can find plenty of people online that can help/mentor you.

Some people do, but I don't recommend it. Why would you want to?

How about you create a website about a topic you are passionate about and know plenty about? It sounds like you are just trying to make a profit and affiliate websites typically fail.

97% of people never make money Online because of 2 things.

    1) BEING SLACK ASSES

    2) NOT TAKING ACTION

they both go hand in hand. It is not the technique that will make you money but the taking of action that will get you from point a) to point b)

taking action was the biggest obsticle for me, but when I did take action it was not only eye opening but life changing for me financially.

I think that my biggest lessons were:
    • Most things will work if you stick to one thing at a time. If you can spend 30-60 days just focusing on one thing, you will probably make a dent in it.
    • "No" won't kill you. Ask for what you're worth and only accept what you're worth.
    • Network, Network, Network
    • Always provide value. If you think of other people's business needs and help them connect with their goals, a lot of times you'll end up getting surprise leads and help as well.

I make a little money now, but what held me back for a long time was my inability to stick with one system long enough to at least learn from it.

I was afraid of doing something wrong and I nitpicked over too much. Then I'd be off to some other bigger, better plan.

You can't be afraid to take action. Making one site over a 5 month period isn't enough. Are you working on that site every day? Take action and commit. Perhaps I am just a serial action taker, but I have been at this almost 5 months, have about 25 sites and will make around $2K this month. Half of my sites are ****. But, I took the action and learned from them. I have learned from them all. I read a lot of blogs, this forum and listen to lots of podcasts. Oh, and I work at it 50 hours a week after working my 40 hour a week job.

    Don't be afraid of action.

I've made over $1000, but most of it came from selling a domain name which I never intended on selling. However, that made me realise that there was money to be made online.

Since then I've made about $100 messing around with Affiliate sites and getting to know all about SEO. From there I've just learnt more about the analytical side of things, optimisations, testing, copywriting etc. It was all a great experience and gave me ideas for new projects.

I've got a bigger project in the works now, it will require a decent amount of investment but I think it will make money. It's still a risk, by creating a web site strategy and business plan then hopefully it will help produce the results. Let's just hope the niche is what i think it is

I tell people i know to go to ebay to boost their self esteem as far as getting instant sales, instead of waiting 12+ months...and thousands of dollars..for a nice recurring income via their own website.

Oh and yeah.. i used to be an ebay powerseller and top rated seller. I stopped because i grew tired of inventory, maintenance... and driving back and forth to the post office every week. My new online business is much better.
