Why do you lose who you are following on Twitter?

This has happened to me twice now.... I take the time to find and follow people that I enjoy. Cool.

I come back a day later and am following like 13 people, versus the 70 something the day before.

Obviously the first answer would be I have signed up for a retweet this offer and have given out my un and pw. Not the case. Not even once.

Ok, so someone obtained it somehow...I've switched my password twice because of this, but am finding the same issue today once more.

Ridiculous and becoming a waste of time. Anyone else have any tips on securing a twitter account?

    Twitter is clamping down on spam accounts.

    You could be losing alot due to them closing accounts?

    No no, I'm not losing followers. lol I'm losing the people I'm following.

    For instance, Dana W and JMO still have active accounts. Yet I am no longer following them. My account must be compromised somehow.

    Hmmm. This never happened to me. Perhaps, they decided to make their tweets private? I don't know, i haven't really experienced this.
