Of course, I'll say start with a clear vision of how you intend on extracting income from your prospects as in what is your basic online business model.

- affiliate
- membership
- info-product
- cpa
- adsense

etc.

Then gather the tools & knowledge necessary to help you conduct the model.

The tools and knowledge necessary for each model is slightly different.

It won't hurt to compile an list of things to do and then do them.

Hope This Helps!!

Wow liberator thanks...

This is taking shape of course it is still not clear and probably won't be for a while as there is a good learning curve I will be undergoing as you did.

Liberator...I have decided to go after 2 models:

1) affiliate model - using google ppc to drive traffic to info products

2) learn how to create memberships

However, your response got me 1 step closer to unraveling the spaghetti in my head concerning these areas....absolutely this has helped immensely...

Just to add to this one - before you dive into advertising, make sure you've picked the right advertising method(s) and you've educated yourself on them. PPC can give quick results and huge traffic - but it can also be a big money pit if you don't know what you're doing...

I'm not exactly sure what your needs are but two tools I am constantly recommending are Google Keyword Analyzer for SEO and keyword suggestion purposes:

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

and this Copywriting 101 course for your content generation and sales/squeeze pages.

Copywriting 101: An Introduction to Copywriting ? Copyblogger

Both invaluable resources and both free

If you elaborate on your needs a bit more I may be able to offer more advice.

Hey jrailsback...thanks

I come from the offline direct sales world, and if you are not organized, and apply time and territory management you will pay the price of failure or making much less income.

There is also a system professional internet marketers online follow on a daily basis which allows them to maximize their time and money. This is what I am talking about.

onpointinfo - great question.

First off - the very fact that you're asking this means to me that you're looking at this strategically, which places you WELL above most people starting out in this.

From an organizational standpoint, my preferred way of attacking the problem is "think first, then act".

I like to generate a checklist of all the stuff I need to get done - I try to get as granular as possible - ranging from choosing a niche, finding products, researching keywords, starting to generate basic content, finding a domain (I always like finding a domain after I know some keywords...), getting it hosted, and then getting content on the site. Next I run through the process of generating autoresponder messages, more content, articles, and finally move into promotion (adwords, etc).

Sounds to me like you're on the right path, just spend a little time trying to figure your critical path, write it down, and then execute. Chances are, you'll probably find holes in your original plan - just add to it as you go. Best part is - once you've got the list done, you can re-use it for your future affiliate projects!

I know it's kinda general advice here - but I hope it helps you!

- Mark.
