Starting Website. Want Advice.

Hello Everyone.
Very new to this whole environment. My company will be launching a website soon that will have personal ads similar to what Craigslist used to have, and what BackPage currently has. I know a lot of the revenue can come from people listing third party sites, 800 numbers, etc., and was curious if this is a place to promote this? I would like to find people to use the site, but I obviously don't want to be hacked or compromised. Just a nice symbiotic relationship. Is this the right venue for that type of thing, or do you know where else I should look?

    Too late. Already deep into it and past the point of return. I am hoping unique features and design will keep people coming back. The hard part is getting people to visit a site to list items where nobody is looking at items. Uphill battle. I am hoping things like an all inclusive trip to cancun will create a fun environment and be incentive enough for people to want to start to list and look there. Hope your prophecy is wrong. Thanks for the reply though.

    Maybe I should shorten the main question. Is this the right kind of environment to find people who would want to list ads for free on a website, or are there different forums that cater more to that type of marketing?

      That depends on what kind of ads you are looking for. This is a forum that is mainly aimed at internet marketers, rather than people wanting to post personal ads.

      If you are taking ads for seo services, article writing services, etc then I would imagine that some of the Warriors who list in the Warriors for hire section might be interested.

      If you have the sig link facility turned on, then add the link to your signature.

      CAUTION: Once you've done that make sure that the "Show your signature" option under the post in your editing area is unchecked on EVERY post you make about your ads site. Any post that is seen as promoting your sig file will be deleted and you might find yourself banned.
