e-mail account with hostgator?

Under Hostgator hosting services, there is option to creat e-mail account. Is there any use of creating e-mail account when I am already having e-mail account with yahoo.com. If it is useful then at which stage I should create hostgator e-mail account. I have yet to install wordpres & build my site. Should I create e-mail account at this stage.

    It is VERY useful. You always want to have an account that reflects your domain for when you register for certain things, like Web 2.0 sites. I always create a base account, such as admin@mydomain.com. If you look to the right of the 'Create Email' link, you'll see another one called Forwarding. After you have created the email address, go into the 'Forwarding' link and forward the official email to your Yahoo account. In this way, you can keep a lot of different addresses, but then route them all into one account and check them all at once.

    If you really get into the email functions available there you can do a lot of the features an autoresponder can do. Build list and batch send. Most HG email accounts allow you to send 500 emails an hour .. make sure you take that into account when segmenting list.
