Google Auto Suggest Bad Word Removal Question

A client has recently hired me to handle their online reputation management. Here is their problem. When you go to google and you type in their company name, so for example "computer Repair Company", Google auto suggests different keywords that you may be searching for. I am sure you are familiar with this. If you are not you can go to this website: http://support.google.com/websearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=106230

Anyway, when you type in their company name, one of the suggested words is "scam" so for example when you type in "company name" one suggestion is "company name scam". My client wants to remove the scam suggestion from showing up.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I believe (I could be wrong!) that it is based on common searches.

It might be worth checking if there are websites/forums claiming the company to be scam, and possibly the amount of searches for their business name + scam?

    Edit: Google seems to agree:

As you type, Google's algorithm predicts and displays search queries based on other users' search activities. If you're signed in to your Google Account and have Web History enabled, you might also see search queries from relevant searches that you've done in the past.
and suggest that you won't easily be able to influence them to change this...

Predicted queries are algorithmically determined based on a number of purely algorithmic factors (including popularity of search terms) without human intervention.
I predict it'll be a case of reputation management (just seen that this is what you are trying to do. Good luck!)

    Hello Jason,

Yes, i have managed to manipulate auto suggest but i didn't use SEO at all, i developed a tool in C, using internet explorer automation.

the tool had to perform the following tasks:

    2. Open IE Explorer
    3. Clear temporary internet files, cookies, history,
    3. Navigate to google
    4. (Wait randomised time)
    5. input a keyword from the 'target word' list (random each time) into google input box
    6. click submit button or enter key stroke
    (page loads)
    6. Wait randomised time
click on page from URL list (random), there could be two of three
    (page loads)
Wait on page, possibly scroll up or down if needed (randomised time 10sec- 400 secs)
Do you mean wait on your web site? Because we have just clicked the url and redirected into the target url.
Click through to any page other page on the website (click on random <a>)
Click on any link on your website?
    (page loads)
    (randomised wait)
    (exit IE)
(loop x amount of proxies in list)

this tool does two search using one IP (this looks natural to google) it will randomise the click through and bounce rates as well, it's about automating the search through country specific IP address's, then looking making the search journey as natural as possible.

    I hope this helps

    Jon
