I just wanted to share my experience of trying to make money with US FREE ADS.

I paid the $9.99 for premium membership. When you buy the premium membership you can have unlimited adverts !

I placed 20 adverts in different categories. (The idea behind this was to find a product that was selling well).

I did do research on alexa and offer vault to gauge the demographics of us free ads and I tailored my 20 adverts to this demographic.

I place one advert as a Featured advert this was an extra $11.00. This is supposed to give you extra exposure and there is a link on this ad to all your other adverts.

Adverts were placed and I waited for the commissions to roll into my account.
Can you guess what happened ?

Nothing !
Ziltch !
Zero !

Not a sausage ! After 1 week of no sales. I went back to my adverts and I tweaked them, but there was only so much you can do. I waited another week and I got the same results.

Nothing !
Ziltch !
Zero !

I also noticed that not many people were viewing the adverts. The adverts were placed in the correct categories. I done everything correct.

So I am left dazed and confused. I thought us free ads were viewed by millions of hungry buyers ?
Am I missing something ?

Does anyone have any words of wisdom on this topic ?

Thank you for reading this.
Simon

What type of headlines did you use? Maybe they weren't getting the readers' attention? Can you post a sample?

Both of warriors's absolutely right. Title or the Headline is the first impression of your Ad.

    Are you getting views?

I tried making money selling Clickbank products on US Freeads before without any success.

I thought I had decent ads and I even made catchy thumbnails, but no luck.

I think you are referring to USFreeAds of about 3-4 years ago.

It DID used to work well.

However that said - if you keyword optimize your ads and link back to them you will have some level of success.

    20 ads though?

How much do you want it?

Try 500 ads and see how you do

I have done it and it is not a long term solution but I can tell you from experience you will get a few sales!

    Then you build from there.

As its in the name...FreeAds...People go there for free stuffs I suppose. Anyway those that are free seldom work. Better go for paid quality ads.

As mentioned, the medium is important but the ad itself is critical. People come here every day saying they get thousands of page views on their sites but few sales. Guess what? That's because they offer no compelling reason on the site for people to buy anything.

Without seeing your ads it's hard to comment. Just as with any advertisement you need to grab the reader's attention. This is done with a clever headline. But that just gets the ad opened. Once the reader is there you need to continue to make your offer irresistible.

You could have a full page in the Wall Street Journal and still fail if your ad copy isn't doing the job. And finally, you need to be offering something people want and can afford. And again, since you haven't mentioned the product or shown the ad we can't comment. Good luck.

Tis funn you mention that, as I am in the financial niche and holy moly we used an ad in the wall street journal, and it was a small ad and it cost a small fortune and failed. But After changing the copy and headline we went from about 3 responses to over 50, and that was highly targeted and worked out very nice.

I am glad we test these things, otherwise you will be left out in the cold. Have to remember marketing is about testing and tweaking, too many people give up after the first try does not work.

Remember when you learnt to ride your bike. If you simply gave up the first time you fell off, then you would never be able to ride a big now would you.

This doesn't surprise me. The only classified ad site that i've seen that's been proven to make money for someone is Craigslist. The rest of the classified ad sites are filled with other marketers trying to promote their own product. You'd probably be better off watching Rachael Ray's 30 Minute Meals show than spending your time on us free ads.

It really matters what your offer is and what your copy/headline is. I don't know too much about making money with US FREE Ads, but like you, I have heard some great things.

Try mixing up your headline and really making it a zinger that people foam over.

It all depends on what you are promoting, not because you saw lots of clicks on your ad means you will get sales. I do not promote affiliate products on classified ads site, it is almost a waste a time. The best things that do well on these sites are physical products like used products or services.

I got a little bit of traffic from US Free Ads some years ago, but nothing these days.
I've never had much joy with any classified site to be honest.

This is an old thread posted way back in 2012. I believe USFreeAds was once a great location to place Classified Ads at low cost.

I hear that many were successful with their ads on this location. I would have loved to join in the action, but it was not be.

    I don't think I ever ran more than 30 - 40 different ads, and I gained some hits . . . but no sales.

As USFreeAds is a low cost Classified site I am happy to run my ads there but I am not looking forward to any action . ; , any time soon

Hey simonfunhouse, please, do not ever believe in this nonsense.

Nobody in the world can guarantee quality visits for that price. NOBODY.

    Believe me.

Often it comes to BOT traffic.

In the best of cases it comes from expired domain traffic (traffic redirection with zero value.

In the best cases are clicks of people who are paid to do clicks on ads (PTC) or to view your ad.

You have two great ways to get good traffic, targeted traffic (the target is critical !!).

Create your own blog, write as much content (value content!), use long tail keywords for your niche, work to create quality backlinks.

    Use social (mostly FB).

In this way, traffic will grow slowly, but it will be valuable traffic.

The other road is paid traffic, but not the nonsense that you bought.

The best traffic in the world comes from PPC as Google (AdWords), FB (FB Ads), banners on highly visited website, and PPV.

    PERIOD.
