The general idea at first was to create a site based around the fair amount of success i have had making money online since i was 16 years old. Users would sign up to the list, where i would send them my own informational products and also high-quality products from other successful Internet Marketers.

Before i got round to doing all of this another option came up for distributing my own products etc. And i am not sure whether i should carry on with this site.

Should i carry on with my idea? Or is there something else i could do with it?

The aim of the site is also to build a reputation for myself so that i can soon become an authority in the IM niche, obviously i would like to make some income from the site however this is not my primary objective.

I look forward to hearing your opinions on what i can do with the site.

As I don't know what your other opportunity was I can't comment on that but from what you've described above I'd definitely try an execute it. Sounds like a well thought out plan to me...

Its not all from IM though, my dad is fortunately well-off so its mainly his haha

Hmm...Why would you post a picture next to a car which you didn't buy from your own efforts? People won't trust you once they know it's not yours but your dads. It's important to attain a good level of success personally first, before you think about teaching others.

But, if you have had a good level of success so far, then a picture of you would be enough, posting it next to a car which you didn't personally buy will make people doubt you more. What do you think?

Ive had more than my fair share of success in the past year from working my ass off. Just because im young it does not mean i am incapable of teaching someone how to make money online or increase their Google page rank, especially considering ive made a few figures more than the majority of people on this forum.

And im not exactly coaching them, just giving away informational products etc.

Oops...I think you posted before I edited my post above. Anyway, I am not doubting your success, I am only saying that you won't be doing justice to your subscribers by posting a picture next to an aston martin which you didn't buy from your own efforts doing IM. With a picture like that people assume that you must have bought it from the money you made online. If you get my point here...

Yes i definitely see your point, its something i have actually thought about. But then you hav to look at it from another angle, without the car, they see a picture of a 16/17 year old kid. Automatically they value themselves above me because im younger. Its a common and unconcious way of thinking, that because they are older i have nothing of value to offer.

The car there assures them i have something of value to offer.
I can see your point but it is hard to decide whether to include it or not.

But the car wasn't bought by your IM efforts, so in a way you're just lying to them. In fact! Here is what will happen further - People will doubt you more because of it and will constantly question you regarding how you got that car. And once you tell them it's not yours...Bam...they won't even bother listening to you further.

Also, people who have value to offer won't need to depend on such things. They would give free value upfront in return for an email.

You will get 100 times more subscribers if you share something upfront for free which works instead of standing next to a car thinking people will take you seriously.

The photo implies that it's your car and that you earned
it from your own efforts.

Why do you feel the need to present yourself as someone
that you are NOT?

Either drop the photo with the car or put your Dad in the
picture too when he's asking you to wash it

Anyways, I'm not convinced of the wisdom of adding 16
to the end of your name for the domain.

It's already dated.

If you want to build an authority site, then it needs to

Definitely need to change ill to I'll. I started my first business at 15, and I can tell you that if you don't use basic spelling, grammar, and capitalization rules you are making it that much harder to establish trust with readers and clients.

That being said, you are working on a workable USP, so good for you.

Re the 16 in the domain, it can be a good part of your branding, or it can date you. Work this wisely...

You need to be a little more specific, too, in what you have personally achieved and what you are going to teach.

Be careful. You can find yourself in treacherous waters if anyone finds that you aren't genuinely teaching a success system you've used.

I suggest that you blog case studies and do anything to forecast transparency, and you be as open and honest as possible.

Its not dated, i dont think you are seeing the idea of the site.
the idea is to show people how ive been making money online since i was 16 years old. Not that im 16 now.

Yeah i agree, from everyones post its clear that i will need to be more honest and open in my website venture. Its something i will definitely need to think about.

I get the idea of the site - I just don't think it's one
that is good if you want to build an authority site.

You're 17 now. How will you feel when you're 25 and

and it's focused on what you did years ago?

All I'm saying is that if I were to put my time, energy
and money into building an authority site, I'd make
sure that the concept would stand the test of time.

Well I tell you what young whipper, I actually like and support young people, here and in life, and I do not make this sites rules, testing of people as you say in your context is fine at any age, but I do have little time for people who wish to be a smart ass, so maybe being polite and not reading something into what was not there in the first place may save you tripping over yourself moving forward.

For the record the rules state

You understand and agree to the following: (e) You are at least 18 years of age. which would at least in part say that it is a requiremnt, and it makes no mention as to a added reference that it's still fine / or not a requirement, but I will let you sort and debate that one.

I AM NOT SELLING A PRODUCT, please for god sake read the OP, ive just set it up, and im asking where to go with it. I had an idea at first, which is why i set that up, now im not doing that. Read before you jump in with your opinions.

Im happy for you to express your opinion but at least make it a valid point. Im not selling a product, and so until i decide what to do with the site im not really worried about whats on the front page or what it says.

I'd go for your own personal blog. On this tell your own story, everything from the beginning and how your got started in IM all the way up to today.

Other people starting out will he glad to read your story and see how you've gained success along the way. This will help you build a presence and authority in your niche and hopefully build up a following of people who will later become customers of yours

I couldn't be bothered setting up a blog for so long but I was told by someone far more powerful than me to do it - and so I did

Regarding your age, you have to tread lightly. I don't absolutely discriminate against age, but I don't want to hear about it like it's a badge of honor. Use it to show that "anyone" can do it, but not as an honor.

i just signed up Michael... i am not afraid to learn something profitable from a 16 year old... earning thousands of dollars now will take me anyway near to stem cell therapy which would lead me to getting put of ten paralysis due to spinal cord injury and i love that it is, as you said newbie friendly... thanks!
