What Other Sites Are There Like Squiddoo?

I read the term "user-generated web 2.0 sites like squiddoo" for link building in a whitepaper. Can you tell me of any other user-generated websites that are like squiddoo? Thanks in advance.

Take a look at Hubpages, another web 2.0 site HubPages if you are looking for something similar

Apart from HubPages, as has been mentioned above, Wizzley's another one that I've been hearing more and more about lately. I know a couple of people that have had some success with it - I'd say it's relatively close to being a clone of Squidoo in fact. Wizzley - A writers' community

I do NOT recomment wizzley. Wizzley claims that they want only really good quality content, which would be fine, but in reality they are very picky who can publish there. Their platform is not easy to use, and it is like a free wp. com platform, but from 10 years ago. And some published articles do not seem to be very good. Many users complain about not have published their stuff, because of what-ever reason: grammar or they will say it is not quality content? Very subjective.

Hubpages is ok but is no follow. Although it has a great page rank, it won't help you much in the SERPS. The traffic I have seen from it are minimal.

      This.

And try to learn a little about how they're interpreted, too (sometimes it's "inconsistently and idiosyncratically").

The ones to avoid, generally, for terms of service problems, are Squidoo, HubPages, Blogger, and Wordpress.com

For all the reasons given in so many thread like this: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...y-website.html

Regarding Squidoo, in particular, these recent threads are interesting and relevant, and their important warnings also apply to many other similar sites with "tricky" interpretations of the terms of service ...

Is Squidoo still okay to post article to?

How to subtly advertise on Squidoo and Hubpages?

How do I Use Squidoo Effectively?

      Advice on Squidoo

The important point is that sites similar to Squidoo, regarding their TOS, don't actually offer anything that you can't get free and safely at places like Weebly, Yola, Blinkweb, 000WebHost and Byethost (to name but a few); if you use those places instead, you own and control the site yourself and you don't have all the problems.

There are many, and everyone has their faves. If you are looking for a quick reference, check out ping.fm and look down through the list of sites listed there. Also try posterous.com for the same.

Tumblr.com seems to be gaining in popularity in the last several months. I've heard it mentioned on popular tv shows, so you know it's starting to go mainstream.

    Hope that helps

Great list everyone, thanks! I totally forgot about tumblr. Got intro'd to it when it was just starting but just never got into it. I'll revisit it...and the others.

Thank for the info on Wizzley. I hadn't heard of that one. I've had great success on Squidoo, with one of my lenses getting about 20,000 hits per month. Ranks pretty high on Google, too.

Just checked out Wizzley. It does look a bit like Squidoo but very undressed. I plan to check out a few of the other sites mentioned here as well. Thanks to all for the input.

There are so many web 2.0 for your link building campaign, and you can and should use all of them as they are free blogs. To make it natural, use both high PR and low PR free blogs, and also use both do follow and no follow free blogs. Anyway you shouldn't just use the "big names" such as squidoo, hubpages, etc, for your link building effort. Just use as many free blogs as you can, so you can get backlinks from many unique domains as well, and that will be good for your serp..

    Check out Weebly.

Great interface, one of the best free website creators I have found. Also allows you to make multiple page sites.
