Will it be harmful for my site?

Suppose I have a site, and from this site I provide an anchor text link to a relevant big, established site. My question is will my site get any demerits for this backlink to other site?

If I publish some same articles on the big site with a backlink to my site will it be harmful for my site? If I don't get any back link just share the same post after publishing on my site will it do any harm to my site?

    From my understanding, the link out to the relevant big site can help your ranking, because it's sort of like saying, "I don't know the answer, but I know who does".
    As for the articles, you should publish them on your site first, and let the bots know to index your site. (Ping your site) Then you can syndicate your exact same article to the big site and the backlink in your author resource box can actually help your site.

    Basically you get advantages from those big site .
    Those big site have high traffics and high page rank. IF you able to build your link there such as exchange or guest post. You the one taking advantages while you able to get a strong link back from high PR site and the backlink usually have high weight on SEO.
