Auto Blogs Linking To Your Posts

Is this good or bad?

Auto blogs have linked to posts in my blog.

They create an auto comment and link back to their blog.

Is this wise to approve these comments?

Easy Cash if you haven't already, install the Akismet plugin on your blog. It will catch most, if not all, spam comments and save you countless hours of cleanup work.

It's caught well over 65000 spam comments on one of my blogs over the last two years, and aside from one little hiccup a few weeks ago, pretty much all of it has been prevented from hitting the public view.

Yeah - thanks for that - I need to do it.

However - these particular ones are links - which, true, I am getting backlinks out of them.

No doubt though the autoblogs are also getting good links as my blog is so damn awesome....(Joke)

Just wondering if it would do any damage approving comments linking to these spammy autoblogs.

Some people and Google say linking to bad neighbourhoods is bad - are these autoblogs really bad asses?

They've already got your content, why would you want to approve the trackbank links?

I delete autoblogger trackback links. I also delete one liner comments - the only ones I approve are those which "seem" to have some relevance to the original post.

I guess the question to ask yourself, are you aiming for a quality blog where your readers want to return and interact?

If you answer yes, then you should make sure you are making the whole experience, including comments, a quality experience for your readers. Nothing turns me off more than reading a great post and then heading down to the comments to see what others are saying, only to find spam comments going on about viagra, or the me too comments that only exist for a link.

Sounds like trackback spam and most probably they are using some sort of cloaking so it looks like they are linking to you ala trackbackspider

If the comment is somewhat relevant and the sites they are linking to are not outright rubbish, then you may approve the comments. I don't see much of a problem in this.
