I've been tearing my hair out today over a FB FP cover photo. FB directions say it should be 850pxW by 315pxH. I spent ages designing something I was really pleased with, but when I uploaded it to FB, it chopped a good chunk off the right side when it displayed.

I've been experimenting with different widths and different dpi, but every time the right side gets chopped off. I'm going nuts

Any suggestions?

851 X 315. In most cases, you can also move the image around to the desired location before you save.

just drag it to where you want before you save

But dragging it around doesn't solve the problem, details are then lost.

May I resurrect this thread from yesterday in case there are some fresh eyes reading. It just doesn't make sense that FB suggests a certain size for the new cover photo, then chops off the side when it's uploaded. BTW, I've emailed them, but nor response as yet.

I haven't done this specific task yet, but I'd probably make an image with a sacrificial border on the right side. In other words, extend the background/canvas to the right by however many pixels get clipped/covered.

Take a screenshot of how it looks now and use it as a reference for exact element placement. If you're using Photoshop, place the screenshot on a layer and use it as a template.

That's great advice Kelly - thanks. I spent yesterday going round and round in circles; it seemed however I resized the image, the right hand still got chopped off. Again, thanks..
