Anyone Else Come Across This With CB Recently?

Hi guys,

Submitted a product to CB for approval a few days ago & got a slightly surprising reply this morning...

Please provide me a transcript of the video on your Pitch Page.

I have several other products listed on CB, one of which has a video salesletter, & I was never asked for the transcript for that.

I'm guessing that CB for some reason don't want to sit down & take 10 mins to watch the video themselves, but it just seems a bit odd. I've sent them back a request asking why, so it will be interesting to see what they say...in the meantime I guess I'll have to hope I still have a copy of the transcript somewhere and don't have to transcribe it.

Anyone else had this recently?

Cheers

Rachel

    Hi,

Sometimes videos go for about 8 days straight LOL they do not want to sit there that long.

I make my living from clickbank, and it is always advisable to do what they say. And work with them, no matter what people say I have found them over the years to be great, and will work hand in hand with you on anything and will co-operate with any problems or issues you have.

Do not ask them why, just give them what they need. They are very good to deal with that way, and you will get your product approved alot quicker.

      Hi Rachel,

I agree with celente, CB can be great to work with, as I currently do as well. Although they do have many new regulations now since there were people taking advantage of the system, and other consumers complaining.

All-in-all CB is just looking out for 3 parties. The consumer, themselves, and YOU. So it's be to just give them what they ask for and you'll get approved pretty quick.

happens to me all the time now you know to just send them the video script in advance

I also dont think they want to sit and watch a sales video so just give them the script makes the approval process a little faster i think

If its a powerpoint or keynote just save it as a PDF and send that to them

They will probably be looking for any claims you make and/or business opportunity type language.

Thanks guys ...I do understand why they would want to check the 'sales copy' for the reasons you mentioned Mike, just thought it was a little odd when all the 'sales copy' was already freely available to them in the video...which is not a long one, well not compared to some!

Anyway, fortunately I managed to track down the transcript on my computer & have sent it through...I'll know for next time.

I don't find it strange at all. It's a lot easier to examine a document that you read then to look at the video.

It would be quite easy for them to get distracted during the video and miss something. Maybe just 5 or 10 seconds. But when they read it, in outside distractions will cause them to stop reading at that point and not miss anything.

I think that is the reason they asked for a transcript.

But of course..I could be wrong.

It could be that they are taking seriously the legal duty to make websites accessible to disabled people. I very much doubt it's that, however I like to think it's a possibility!

They're certainly tightening up a little on "acceptable sales page representations". In a few different ways, it seems.

Being a retailer, rather than just a payment processor, they're pretty much responsible for what they sell (even with their refund policies). I'd think it's probably easier for their legal advisor to "approve" something with the words in writing than by watching a video. Sometimes the meaning of a sentence can be altered a little by the following sentence, and so on, and one can perhaps make a better/safer evaluation of things with text copy to accompany a video than one can from just a video? (Though it could easily be that none of that's really relevant in this instance, and they're just "being careful"? Well, we should all welcome that, anyway ...).

Good luck with your new product!
