Better To Target One Site Heavily? Or Many Sites?

Say that you were Nike. Would you rather spend 50M impressions on 1 or 2 sports websites (25 M impressions each sites), or get about 2M impressions on 25 different websites??

I think the only way to work that one out is to work your way backwards. Test and tweak to find out where your traffic is converting. I think the answer is:

    It depends

Well I'm not Nike but I think it's good not to put all your eggs in one basket.

It depends on your goals. You'd think in campaigns, not in sites.

I am also agree with you. The number of choice is less at one site. So work on different one.

It seems like everyone above nailed it.
You obviously wouldn't want to put all your eggs in one basket, even if you know the source coverts. That said, a company the size of Nike probably has some data on what works, and wouldn't distribute the impressions evenly either.

I got a feeling were probably responding to a Nike marketing manager here who is on 6 figures a year.

A little of both. Make money with one model then move on.

  • Develop and diversify. Why should you rely on one site when you can do more than one and increase the amount of traffic? More stable.

As fast as our industry changes, the wise promoter will stay in a position of being able to make changes or adjustment as his situation changes. The only sure thing is "change". If you can redirect prospects (in mass) to a new or different program you start working, the chances of being forced out of business LL be much less likely to happen.
