Landing page versus sales letter?

Despite some common features such as benefits, this landing page is very unlike a sales letter. It's my understanding that such a page is more effective with a product that has high brand recognition.
I've tried such a tactic in the past without success, but my health product has been on the market for 3 years now and is gaining brand recognition within its niche. The Google search tool shows 41,000 searches for my brand name.
Can anybody share their results using a landing page without a sales letter?
And where can you get a good landing page designed?
