How can I get traffic from Video Marketing

Starting from scratch, what are the best practices when it comes to generating traffic from posting videos?

How long should the videos be?
How should I structure content?
How much traffic can I realistically expect?
Do I need a YouTube Channel?
How fast will I see results?
etc...

Thanks in advance for any tips you can share

I would recommend going to the Reel Seo blog and doing a search for video marketing basics or tips there. In my opinion, it is the #1 video marketing blog available. Hope this helps.

Yes, I think it all depends on your niche/product. There are no hard and fast rules for video marketing. It's just like any other type of marketing where you just test, test, test to see what works and tweak it until you find something that works for you. Even then, you continue to test and tweak.

By using keywords in the name of your video, in the tags section and make a fairly lengthy description of your video as well.

Study the videos on YouTube that have the highest number of views and comments and model your videos that way.

    1. Submit your videos to as many video sharing sites as you possibly can. Use a list like this Video Sites like Youtube: A Huge List of Video Sharing Websites & Services - you may want to Google something more up to date though.

    2. Where possible and appropriate, include a text version of your video content in the description box each time.

    3. Do your keyword research and include your selected keywords in the tags of your video submissions. Use the usual social bookmarketing etc to create backlinks.

    4. Select your titles carefully, and make sure the start of your video description has a brief summary.

    5. Brand your YouTube channel, along with any other video sharing site channels you can register.

Those are just some general ideas but can work really well. A single video on YouTube may only get 0-100 views most of the time, but with lots and lots of submissions among multiple video sharing websites and multiple video content, it can really rack up to a lot of traffic.

Make them maybe about 1-60 minutes...
Make the content be valuable, interesting, fascinating, and useful...
If you post lots of high quality videos... you could hope for lots of traffic, and possibly obtain it...
You need some sort of place to publish videos where you can include your link... YouTube is probably the most popular place to do this...
It is hard to say how fast you might achieve results...

It's possible to see good returns from Video's but there's a set formula to get them ranked (or try to get them ranked

How much traffic you get is hard to quantify - I have some videos that just gather dust while others are pulling leads everyday without fail. Theres a number of factors involved and sum videos just take off and go viral.

A great medium to warm up your viewers - I prefer it to a lot of other marketing.

I agree with Noel Cunningham! There is a recipe to success, find a WSO and follow it step by step whole heartedly. You will see your desired results soon enough.

Without a proper plan, dude trust me, you will be coming to this thread over and over to learn a new strategy and confuse yourself

As many people have said, the content needs to be relevant and really help the people who are watching the video. Ideally, it will help them to accomplish something that they're looking to achieve.

There are no rules on content, but it's fair to say that more light-hearted, funny or strange content gets lots of views on YouTube. Also, informational videos, featuring tutorials also do well.

Bear in mind that there are plenty of places to put your videos, not just YouTube. If possible, upload them first to YouTube, then to other video sharing sites.

Also, ensure that you place the link you're promoting on the first line of the video description, ideally with a call to action of some kind at the end of the video or as a watermark on the video. If you don't put it on the first line, the clickthrough rate will go down massively.

    Happy video-ing!

Good that you figured video can help, but honestly I feel you are asking the wrong questions, which are generally related to distribution.

You need to be concentrating on your content at this stage, and that can be found by asking questions like these:

What do buyers in my niche NEED to know?
How can I help buyers in my niche and also get a response for my CTA?
How can I make my video content interesting or compelling?
Do I have a brand/logo that will work with my other internet properties?
How many videos can I make and rank for in this niche?
What is the competition level for videos in this niche?
What products can I market and support to my followers?

The reason I point these questions out is that many video marketers have the misguided illusion that they will be owning a niche using robotic videos and spreading them around the internet, (not you but many other). It is just so much more difficult than that now.

You can promote your video by buying youtube views, people are much more inclined to watch a video that has 20,000 views rather than 500.

If you don't have the time to make lengthy videos (like me), maybe a 30secs-1 minute would do. Just put pictures, texts and some background music. Remember, you are just familiarizing them what they will see when they click the link that you promote. Then, once you make the videos, upload it, and rank it in google (which is not that hard by the way). Because your goal is just to gain traffic, what you only need to do is to catch the eyes of potential customers. As we all know, google search is composed of websites mostly. So, when they type a certain keyword, and your video shows up, it will really gain attention. It has been proven that videos have a higher click-through rate than websites. So, once they click on your video, of course they will be brought to the main video-site, let's say for example, youtube. Oh I forgot, ALWAYS put the link that you want to promote in the topmost part of the description box. Okay, so once the potential customer is watching your video on youtube, then they will click on the link that you put in the description. There! Increase in traffic

If you use direct-linking, then you might need to put high-quality content so that you can pre-sell to the viewers. So, longer videos woould be necessary. But, if the link that you're promoting is a link to your site, then shorter videos would do.

    Hope that helps!
