Should I Host Multiple Different Niche Blogs on The Same Hosting Account?

Hi,

I will start a few niche blogs on different topics. Just to clarify this technical question.

Any warrior bloggers are using the same hosting account or any good suggestion?

Thanks.

    Hi,

When you don't have your own server, you can't go wrong with Godaddy.com or Hostgator.com (the last one will give you more technical possibilities). Both aren't expensive, they work good and give you wysiwig (what you see is what you get).

      Thanks Ed for your reply.

Frankly I already choose the hosting company for the blogs, but I just not sure whether or not to host multiple niche blogs on this same hosting account?

or should I sign up few accounts to host every single one of them individually?

      Any good suggestion? Thanks.

It depends what you want to use it for...

If it's for SEO purposes, you have to host it in different companies, with different IP address, all the way to even DIFFERENT domain name registration.

If it's just purely to drive traffic, make money, I think it's fine.

      Thanks Joseph.

This is my main goal for the niche blogs.

You should be able to buy a different IP address for each blog for a small amount if you are worried about SEO etc

      Cheers

        Hi Kim,

Would you mind to explain a little bit further on buying a different IP address?

        Thanks.

As long as you aren't trying to link them together into an easily detectable mini-net hosting them in the same location isn't a problem.

      Thanks bgmacaw.

After reading some of the replies from the forum, I think I got the answer.

Now really need to get down to work. Hope I can report back some results on my niche blogs in the coming time.

Yes, typically "blog farming" like this is frowned on by most hosting providers. So, if you don't link your blogs together in gratuitous ways (i.e., a "circle" configuration, etc.), you should be fine. I'd go with HostGator, too. More features than GoDaddy's hosting. Just my $0.02. Good luck!

        Thanks for AtticusBaker & AndyBlackSEO.

I think SEO should not be my problem anymore. Now I will try to work out the blog setting up and report back on another post if any progress result.

If you are not wanting to gain any SEO advantages by linking them up then it's not a problem hosting on the same server / account. Remember though, if your blogs will be unrelated niches, then it won't offer you much SEO benefit anyway by linking them up.

It's often a good idea to buy 2 cheap hosting accounts with different providers so you can link some sites to each other. This can also be cheaper than buying extra IP addresses.

      Thanks rondo.

When my niche blogs are getting more & more, definitely will have some related niche blogs need to link up in some ways. I will use your idea.
