Rookie questions - 11 quick queries for those that know more-help me stop slacking and get started

Hi guys, I am about to start out on my internet marketing career

I have done a bit of research and have a vague plan in place but I need your help.

To start, I don't have a lot to invest so I am thinking of registering about 15 domain names and hosting them with hostgator baby plan

1. Is this option ok? Is it worth investing in a dynamic ip address with for each site? (seems like a heavy investment - maybe for money site only)

I will create my own business site, then about 6-7 sites that I genuinely have an interest and passion in and about 6-7 sites that target specific niches that to make money

2. What is the best tool for keyword analysis? Market Samurai or Micro Niche finder? Are either of these two worth the investment or should I just use the Google keyword tool for now?

with my sites I want to make money from google adwords and I also want to do some affiliate marketing

3. I assume that the best policy is to place google ads on my passion sites and do the affiliate thing with the niche sites - or can i do both on the same site?

I want to build all the sites using wordpress

4. what theme would you suggest for good ctr and seo? does it really make a difference? many people recommend thesis and clickbump and optimize press - are these worth the investment or should I just go with a free theme?

I intend updating the passion sites frequently, the more info-based niche sites will be updated less often

5. What are the norms for site structure? 6-8 pages ok? articles of 500 word length plus on each page ok? What is the minimum expected standard? Generally do basic niche sites or blogs about a personal passion make more money? or should we instead focus on what makes more money per minute invested? the niche sites are simple to make and don't require a lot of upkeep so surely they perform better on dollar earned per minute of time invested - is that assumption correct?

I intend writing several articles of unique content for each site

6. Will this be a major time drain or is it recommended to beginners to learn basic SEO? Should I outsource these gigs? For each article or page of content that I write, should I spin it using thebestspinner software and send it various directories or should I aim low to begin with?

However I am unsure about the best way to create backlinks and submit to article directories.

7. There seems to be a question mark hanging over UAW, what about magic submitter and AMR? Are they worth purchasing? Are they considered black hat? How do I manually create backlinks? Should I backlink to url of site or main keyword on site or secondary keyword or all of the above?

I know that it takes a few months for these kinds of IM efforts to start to pay off (if at all) but what is the general opinion on selling domain names and flipping sites.

8. How do I know when is a good time to flip my site? where should I sell it and should I have a minimum price in head for sale price e.g. 12 times it's monthly intake? and what about domain names - what are the best strategies for buying these or finding good expired ones or bidding for them and finally selling them?

Finally, as I said I want to do a mixture of google adsense and affiliate stuff - is there any difference in SEO strategies for these. I mean you want to get your site as high in the SERPs as possible right so would i be correct in saying that just SEO the hell out of both of these right, no distinctive strategy necessary?

Just a couple of queries to end with

9. ebay - is it worth diversifying there, if so what's the best advice for how to decide what products to sell here/how to know what products will make a decent profit?

10. credit cards - it's a bit of a hassle getting this set up for a site, i know with adsense and affiliate sites that it's not a problem but on my main business site is it a major drawback just having a paypal payment option?

11. Site requirements, will wordpress do everything I need it to, no matter if it's polls or videos or competitions or counting down clocks, can i be sure that there is a free or lowly paid plug-in for all of the above?

OK, this is a lot to cover so let's do it in chunks.

    1. For the price of 10 domains, you can get a professional keyword researcher to give you ONE domain that you can FOCUS on. You don't have enough money to try and make 20 blogs and hope 4 of them rank well. Save that for later. Added bonus, you won't have to worry about freaking Market Samurai/Google Keyword/whatever. You want to make money your first time out, right? You don't want to screw things up. Of course you don't.

    2. You can monetize however you like BUT be careful to actually read the adsense TOS. Also, how you monetize will depend on the niche you pick.

    3.
    5. What are the norms for site structure? 6-8 pages ok? articles of 500 word length plus on each page ok? What is the minimum expected standard? No no no, don't worry about any of that right now. Yeah, if you hit a bunch of AdSense home runs and have great content and SEO you'll be doing great but that's not guaranteed. Write really good content in something you're interested in. Then promote the content. Don't stop. You'll make money.

    4. Spinning articles.... eh it depends. There are lots of very smart Warriors who say spinning is dead and a waste of time. Also plenty of smart Warriors who say it's fine as long as you do an amazing job of spinning and then use those articles for the right reasons. I'm in the first camp.

    5. Basic SEO isn't hard to learn. Learn how to do good on page SEO... then outsource the off page to someone trustworthy.

    6. Your other questions aren't relevant yet. Don't overload yourself. Get keywords, write content, make videos if you can... then promote it on relevant sites. From ONE strong site. When you start seeing results from that, then start asking about how to do wacky article stuff.

I'll let you know what I'm doing instead of going through all your points, because I actually thought like you when I started.

So you say that you want to make 15 websites. Creating that much content doesn't leave a lot of room for marketing.

Pick 1 niche where you know people are making money, then tackle it from a different angle to separate you from the crowd.

Have a sales funnel in place: one that converts. You can test affiliate products in the beginning or make your own. Tweak to improve conversions.

Now instead of making hundreds of content that nobody will ever see, focus on producing one or two great articles per week.

Now spend all your time and energy getting the content syndicated on other websites, ezines, etc.

Spend time conversing with other bloggers in your niche. Writing guest posts for the right websites.

Focus all your energy on driving targeted traffic back to your sales funnel which you know converts.

Now to make more money, just drive more traffic. No need to make dozens of websites and be completely lost in a sea of information from many different niches.

Anyway, that's not what I'm saying you should do. It's just what I'm doing.

You are slacking cause you are trying to get it perfect. So many ideas you have read and tools that are recommended. You can start off using all free tools. Traffic Travis free version, focus on the passion niches where you have an interest. The days of pumping out crappy articles about clickbank affiliate stuff that is just gross are a waste of time. Toenail fungus anyone?
Build on your interests then work is a joy not a chore.
