Good branding or just plain silly?

Okay so I've been having these silly ideas lately and it snowballed to the point where I was just, f*** it, I'll do it.

I thought I'd put a little spice into my videos by doing them like this:

I KNOW and it feels soooooooo ridiculous but I thought, what the hell...
Who else would be silly enough to do it like this?

What do you guys think? From my point of view, I think it could be effective branding and a little entertaining. But do you think it's waaaay too silly and my audience won't take me as seriously?

It was sort of just an experiment, so the video was kinda rushed. Kinda wanted to test the waters for a bit.

The video obviously implies that it was inspired by wrestling-type promos and I was also eventually thinking of getting a hostess to hold the microphone and do mini-interviews in these kind of vids.

Any feedback?

I don't think it's a bad idea, but make sure to do something with the belt, it's not obvious from the video what it is doing there. If I were you I would dress like a wrestler too, OR get somebody else to do the video for you in the full costume and with the full attitude.

Great advice! Otherwise you could lose customers because it COULD be perceived as ridiculous/amateurish, etc...

Hiring someone shouldn't cost more than 50$ I guess, try fiverr.

2.30 Nothing is going to stop me to get to where I'm at today?

I don't think you need the wrestling belt over your shoulder. You have good use of your hands in terms of emphasising your points. You look smartly presented. What you say comes across well. Not having seen any of your previous work I don't know if you are putting on an act or not, but without the belt and maybe without the shades too your non verbal presentation was good.

I don't know man the belt could indeed be used better.

If it was me, I'd redesign this promo as a ferris bueler type demo. Get a friend to dress up as different identities -- each representative of the type of people one is likely to network with. Have this friend appear and disappear at regular intervals.
e.g. Have a friend dressed up in a suit, enter into frame distracted at the shiny belt whilst you demonstrate how hard it is to get his attention. Then look at the cam and say 'this is a regular pain in my work as a network marketer'.
Each identity is like little bullet points to quickly inform the viewer what they're going to face in their career.
Something like that might work if you keep the gimmicks to a minimum.

In America anyone can go straight to the top. And here's what's exciting- It is the bottom that is crowded, not the top.

Hey I think the belt is cool and all, can't figure out if it is to proclaim yourself as a champion of IM Marketing or Wrestler of the year. Nice presentation, you look sharp,
need to know more about you and your achievements from poooor to the 1%.

  • I was kinda doing it from a Ric Flair style kind of promo. For those who don't know him, he portrays himself as a 'jet-flying, limousine riding, custom made, son of a gun' type of wrestler. I am trying to play a character, who is apparently the 'world heavyweight champion' of my niche. Of course, as with wrestling promos, it kinda has to be aggressive, edgey, and even somewhat cocky.

So yeah, it's basically to come across as giving some tips in a wrestling promo style.

I'm sorta thinking of wearing more costume-like outfits (sorta like a Shawn Michaels type of gear lol) in some of my future videos. But yeah this was just an experiment.
