Hello Warriors,

I am looking for a kind someone to help me get started with Internet Marketing, it could be anything from Affiliate Marketing to CPA. I'm honestly not too fussed, I like to try anything!

I have been into making money online for around 3 years now and over that time I made around $1,000 but it was pretty blackhat... Not much really, I am currently 16 and started when I was 13.

My current target is to try and earn $1,000 per month, I believe I can reach this target, I just would like and need a little help with this, I will list the skills in which I have.

  1. I'm quite good with web design, I know HTML, CSS and can create some nice looking graphics.
  2. I have a little experience with surveys, but not much...
  3. I am quite technical and I am quite knowledgable about computers etc, I have been interested in them for years and tend to hang around computing/hacking related forums, I do nothing illegal I just enjoy tinkering with things.
  4. I always have thoughts about how to make money from something, so I'm pretty entreprenurial I must say, sometimes the ideas work and make me a little cash but othertimes they don't/
Well, if anyone would like to know a little more about me please do comment back on this thread or message me. If you can help me then that would be great. I believe I can do this I would just like a little help, that is all.

Thanks for reading, I hope you can help me!

Overall you want to find some kind of passion in something you really like and see how others might be making money in that same niche.
I suggest you model a successful person you like and do exactly what they do.
With your skills it sounds like you could make custom graphics.
You might look into a good program that teaches a system that you think you would like to learn.

    Good luck!

Pick one thing and focus on it, get involved in dicussions about it here on the forum. Ask questions - Remember - The Only Stupid Question Is a Question You Dont Ask.

$1000 a month is a nice target for a beginner - You are good at design?

Design logo for people here on the forum - Quality logos can go for $50-$100 a piece. Sell 10 and you have $1000.

Contact a local business, offer to design or re-design their website. A basic 5 page website can fetch anywhere up to $1000.

Maybe you are good at fixing them then? Or installing things? Removing viruses?

Offer these services. Services are a great way to earn some quick money which you can then look to invest in further projects.

Dont let the elder members of the forum put you off making money online, there are some great people on this forum but equally there are some that wake up on the wrong side of the bed every morning.

Give it your best shot and keep posting in the forum, its a brilliant way to learn.

    Thanks,

Isn't it a bit conceited of you to make such a derogatory statement Michael?
It's those "Elder" members who helped put this forum on the map, and you yourself are now reaping the benefits (WSO).

Yes maybe the "Elder" members are more cynical or maybe they have just been around a lot longer?

Thank you everyone for the advice.

I have the domain "http://www.EatSleepDrinkMarketing.com" What do you recommend that I do with it?

I was thinking about building a list, but I am having second thoughts about the domain.

      EatSleepDrinkMarketing....!

Congrats on the 1st domain name! My first thought seeing the name is here is a site to learn and discover how to make money online! Running with that idea, it seems logical to be a "web hub" or "expert online resource" where visitors can come and discover how they too can climb aboard the internet marketing band wagon.

Become an Affiliate Master. There are lots of affiliate opportunities on the net. Do some research, test some opps, and research some more. Write (blog) your own reviews of everything you research. Join affiliate programs you believe in, and promote them on your site. Honestly suggest you also discover the power of a blog. Web sites are great, (we have 300+ blogs & web sites), but blogs are really easy to set up, maintain, and promote....

Many here will tell you to jump into the email list building game. We won't recommend that action. Building an email list and then sending messages out is the fastest way to ensure your domain/ip address will be blacklisted and blocked. Back in 1989 when we started out - email campaigns were a requirement. TODAY - if you follow every instruction provided by Google - the visitors will come in droves. Besides, all the folks looking for ways to make money on the net have given their email addresses out hundreds of times - usually it is an address they have set a filter to delete everything that comes in..... (On an average day we get 1000's of message - mostly for the exact same offer, but from dozens of hopeful affiliate marketers.)

There are lots of ways to make a $1000 a month, but that will soon fade away. For staying power avoid the short cuts. If you take your time, research, study and test, you will be making the big money for years to come. .....Remember you can start promoting and earning money immediately. Find something you like and promote it, while to continue your research.

        Hey man,

        Have you started a blog?

If you haven't that is the first thing you need to do....

All the suggestions are well and good but you need a blog so as to establishh some sort of rapport online.

Say you create a product and want to sell it, Obviously.

Presuming your product is top notch, your sales page is top notch etc etc.

        So is your competitors!!

Now, what does someone who finds themselves faced with two awesome looking offers do next.

They try find out as much as they can about the product creator before buying. People want to buy from someone they feel they know, inaway.

Product creator A has no blog so the buyer is none the wiser about this person.

Product owner B ( you ) on the other hand has a blog in which you post about your own struggles, how you overcame them and subsequently how your product came to light.

        Product owner B wins everytime.

Don't underestimate the power of a well orgainised blog

        Sean

PS. If you have a blog, disregard all of the above

I’d say start with affiliate marketing but keep in mind that the real money is made with your own products. Don't let the stiff competition in affiliate marketing scare you away. There are some strategies you can use to effectively find your feet in this.

    1. Choose a good product to promote
Do not make the common mistake of selling the popular products everyone else is selling. Do a simple research first to know if the product is in demand in the market. Also, make sure that the product you'll choose is of good quality.

    2. Do some pre-selling
Most affiliates conduct pre-selling to qualify the leads they will be referring to the merchant's page. This will increase conversion rates because only interested individuals will see the sales page. One thing you can do here is to buy the product you are promoting, and write an honest review about it.

    3. Be capable enough of driving traffic to the merchant's sales page
This is basically the most difficult task you’ll face. In doing this, you should decide first how you will attract traffic towards your affiliate website. You can go for paid advertising or you can spend time creating authority sites that are content rich and with affiliate advertising placed within them. It is good if you can use both strategies.
The nature of the traffic you drive to your affiliate site also matters. You should be able to send highly-targeted traffic, or else, your conversion rates will not be sufficient to cover the cost of advertising.

    To your success,

    • A sound business model is one that starts out by leveraging your available resources to provide solutions that can satisfy the related immediate needs and solve the relevant urgent problems of a group of people that can't satisfy nor solve those needs and problems on their own...

Do you have friends with experience in graphics design, HTML, CSS and Wordpress? Talk to them. Tell them you're interested in hiring them as independent homebased subcontractors. Since you'll do marketing and project management, then you can sell the services of your team at marked up prices, so you can get net profits for every projec. Also keep in mind that you'd need to monitor their overall performance, so you can select one person in your team whom you can train and focus on so as to promote this person as someone who'll do marketing and project management for you in the future, which will allow you to do other things that can grow and expand your business...

Do keyword research. Get exact match keywords with low competition, high local monthly search volume, high global monthly search volume and mid-range CPC rates. For instance, you can target an exact match keyword with low competition, 50 to 100 local monthly searches, 200 to 300 global monthly searches and $0.01 CPC. Then, target 50 of these exact match keywords, so you can collectively have a target set of exact match keywords with low competition, 2500 to 5000 local monthly searches, 10000 to 15000 global monthly searches and $0.01 CPC...

Find a set of well-aged expired closeout domains with domain names among your target exact match keywords. Choose one with the best backlink profile. This means use Majestic SEO to determine the expired closeout domain with active backlinks in contextually relevant, high authority sites heavily trafficked by people interested in graphics design, HTML, CSS and Wordpress development services...

Get a $10/mo or so hosting account from a hosting company offering $100 or more of free Google Adwords PPC credits and $50 or more of free Yahoo! PPC credits with their hosting plans. Develop a professional looking, visually appealing Wordpress site under your chosen expired closeout domain in your server. Set up a Facebook account for your new site, so you can get Facebook coupon codes that can give you up to $250 of free Facebook PPC credits... Develop an elegant custom profile banner for your Facebook fan page. Also set up Twitter and LinkedIn accounts for your site...

Post the About Us, Contact Us and Privacy Policy pages of your site. Write around 50 or so posts targeting your 50 exact match keywords. Embed relevant custom images to improve the overall look and feel of your pages and posts. Develop an introductory video and post it on your About Us page, then submit it to heavily trafficked video directories...

Develop a product that will provide benefits not found elsewhere which can help your target customers satisfy their relevant immediate needs and solve their related urgent problems that they can't satisfy nor solve on their own. This product can be a guide, tutorial or video course related to graphics design, HTML, CSS and Wordpress. Integrate your mailing list subscription process into the sales page on your site for this product. Post this product as an affiliate product in various affiliate networks. Offer a 90% or more commissions per sale percentage. This will help you entice more people to become your affiliates. They will promote this product for you, as well as drive buyer traffic to your site and populate your mailing list subscriber base with buyer traffic...

Talk to owners of contextually relevant, high authority Web forums, sites and blogs in your niche with large membership, readership and mailing list subscriber bases. Also enter your target exact match keywords in Google and take note of the top ranking pages under contextually relevant, high authority sites in your niche with large membership, readership and mailing list subscriber bases. Inform them that they can syndicate your content on their pages and use it for their mailing list content, so their viewers can gain benefits helpful in their related needs and problems, in exchange for onpage text links pointing to pages on your site with supplemental benefits not found elsewhere nor in your syndicated content. You can also ask them if they're interested in posting banner ads or text link ads on their top ranking pages as well as give you solo email ads, in exchange for your services or money. You can also ask them if they're intersted in guest authoring arrangements, where you'll develop unique content not published elsewhere that will be useful for their target viewers, and in exchange, you'd get onpage text links or banner links...

Go to contextually relevant, high authority Web forums in your niche with large membership, readership and mailing list subscriber bases. Register member accounts in those Web forums. Contribute in those communities so you can establish your reputation as a friendly, expert source of content, info, advice, products and services related to graphics design, HTML, CSS and Wordpress in those Web forums. See if they have a marketplace section where you can sell your service offers and products, and of course read their posting rules in those marketplaces. Link one of your forum sigs in those communities to your service offer or product marketplace posts...

Use the methods I outlined above to promote your site content, service offers, products and affiliate signup pages in those affiliate networks...

it all depends on what direction you wish to take.

there are so many business models online that your spoilt for choice, i say pick one and stick with it.

affiliate marketing is very lucrative and so many marketers make millions just on this model.

selling your own products is eventually the main focus and can build lucrative business.

wso again plenty of marketers here in the warrior forum have made millions from just selling wso products.

but whatever you do whatever model you chose always make sure you build a solid buyers list in the market you choose to go into

I think its a good option since you're passionate about computerstuff.

The best way to create long term stability when making money online is to build a reliable, high quality list off leads that you can market to. You can put up a great squeeze page (and there is plenty of information on this forum about what constitutes a good one) and start to build a relationship with the people who opt-in. Offer a free report or an ebook with valuable information, to start.

    Good Luck!

Well whatever model/method you select, make sure you start building your list pronto. It's the biggest mistake I hear internet marketers admit to making -- that they wished they'd started a lot sooner than they did.

    Hi Xeraco !
$1000 a month is great, but in addition you should know that most of the internet marketers are successful because they apply back-end
selling into their marketing efforts. Back-end selling is when you sell
other products or services to your existing customers after they have
purchased an initial product. It is always easier to sell products or services to your existing customers because you have developed a relationship with them when
you sold your first product or service to them. You will find it less
expensive to sell to old customers as compared to selling to new
    customers.

Your conversion ratio will be dramatically higher with existing customers. In fact, to increase your online profits dramatically, you should continually locate or create new back-end products and services to recommend to your existing customers..

I agree with a few others here that starting a blog might be a good direction to take your site. I think that's a great domain for a blog. It says to me that there's going to be a lot of information about marketing. So you can run with the idea that everything on the site has marketing related information. Blog daily.... and market the site through social media, seo, and you can dabble video marketing. You have valuable skills you can also provide web design services to help with advertising your site. I really think you should expand on your site. Spice up the design a bit... you can also add a small marketing directory of the best products (yours or from others) to attract more visitors to learn and buy products from you. It's a process... but it will be worth it if you stick with the site for at least six months.
